‘Boris Johnson is said to be pumping £700million of Britain’s aid budget into quelling Vladimir Putin’s influence in eastern Europe. The cash will go on bolstering countries like Ukraine and former Soviet states amid fears that Russia is gaining control.
The new ‘Empowerment Fund’ will not be used to buy weapons – instead focusing on improving defences against propaganda and cyber warfare.’
