‘More than 100,000 people have signed an online petition calling for George Osborne to either stand down as an MP or resign as editor of the London Evening Standard.
Mr Osborne has attracted criticism after it was announced on Friday that he would be taking over from Sarah Sands as editor in May.
The petition, named ‘George Osborne MP – Pick a job’, was set up on site 38 Degrees and has gathered almost 135,000 signatures.’
