Three women blinded by ‘off-the-charts dangerous’ stem cell trial that was meant to cure mild vision loss

‘Three women have been blinded after receiving an unproven ‘off-the-charts dangerous’ stem cell treatment in a botched clinical trial.
Within a week of undergoing the therapy at a clinic in Florida, the patients suffered complications including vision loss, detached retinas and bleeding.
They are now totally blind and unlikely to recover.
The staggering result, reported in the New England Medical Journal, has prompted warnings of the risks to patients taking part in studies of experimental stem cell therapies.’
