‘Impossible!’ Anger as EU unveils emergency plans to wipe out ALL of Majorca’s plant life
‘European Union plans to eradicate all plant life from the Spanish island of Majorca in a bid to combat the spread of a deadly bacteria were today branded “impossible” by angry locals.
Eurocrats have proposed tearing up all vegetation within 100 metres of plants and trees affected by a rapidly spreading disease which has been dubbed “ebola of the olive”.
Local experts say that on Majorca, which covers just 1,400 square miles, that would effectively mean stripping the popular holiday island of almost all its plant life.’
