‘A woman left shaken after losing her son in a shopping centre has invented a digital wristband to help locate missing children.
Christy Curtis, 43, from Shrewsbury, was in a busy mall in Birmingham two years ago when her three-year-old son wandered off on his own.
As she spiralled into a blind panic, Christy was hit with the realisation that even if Merry was found by a good samaritan, they may not know how to contact her.
In an unfamiliar area and with no idea where the local police station or information point was, Christy became frantic with worry.
To her relief, within 10 minutes Merry was found safe and sound by a passerby, having seen something in another store and wandered off to have a look.
But shaken by her terrifying ordeal, Christy decided to create a device that would keep Merry safe by attaching a barcode to his wrist – an idea which has since blossomed into a business venture.’
