How Our Country Was Stolen

How Our Country Was Stolen

Today is Easter, an important Christian holiday. But it is not marked on the calendar that is part of the Apple software that came with my Apple computer lap top. Today is also April Fools day, and that is marked on the Apple-supplied calendar. For Apple’s programmers, April Fools Day trumps Easter.

How can it be that an American company, Apple, can remember to mark on the calendar Cinco de Mayo (May 5), Mexico’s commemoration of a Mexican army victory of the French in the Battle of Puebla in 1862, but not Easter?

Hanukkah on December 13, but not Easter?

Kwanzaa on December 26, but not Easter?

Groundhog Day on February 2, but not Easter?

St. Patrick’s Day on March 17, but not Easter?

Earth Day on April 22, but not Easter?

First Day of Ramadan Muslim holiday on May 15, but not Easter?

Eid al-Fitr marking the end of Ramadan on June 15-17, but not Easter?

Eid al-Adha, the Muslim Sacrifice Feast, on August 20, but not Easter?

Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, on September 10, but not Easter?

Yom Kippur, Jewish holiday on September 19, but not Easter?

Ashura, Muslim holiday, on September 20, but not Easter?

Diwali, the Hindu Festival of Lights, on November 7, but not Easter?

This is how our culture is stolen and our memories are dimmed. In my day the spring holiday was known as Easter Holiday. Today it is known as Spring Break, a time for drunken and sexually promiscous bacchanal on Florida’s beaches.

The United States was founded as a Christian nation. It did not mean that a citizen had to be a Christian or be punished or sent off in exile if they were not. It meant simply that you had to consider others and to be able to look yourself in the mirror in the morning. Christianity gave American culture a moral tone. Yes, I know, there were many hypocrites and many evil things done, but there was a standard by which to judge. Where is a standard today to judge Washington’s destruction entirely on the basis of lies of numerous countries and millions of peoples in the 21st century? Except for a handful of people, nothing is said critical of Washington’s massive ongoing war crimes. The American media celebrates the war crimes.

Today an American, or one in the important cities, cannot look himself or herself in the mirror unless they have ripped off some trusting or powerless person or persons. Judging by the carnage that Americans have inflicted in the 21st century alone on Afghans, Iraquis, Libyans, Syrians, Pakistanis, Somalias, Serbians, and, by supporting Israel and Saudi Arabia, on Palestinians and Yemenis, Americans have ceased to consider others except as unexceptional and dispensable people, who can be driven into the ground without upsetting any American’s concept of right and wrong.
Indeed, American “diplomats” tell other governments, “do as I say or we will bomb you into the Stone Age.”

Little wonder the second most important Christian celebration—Easter—has disappeared from Apple Computer’s calendar and that one or two atheists and a handful of Jews have managed to prevent Christmas from any longer being a public celebration. Today Christmas has been reduced to a spending spree.

A country without a unifying moral culture is no longer a country. Yet, what pretends to be a country, the US, is being led into war against Russia, a real country. There is no chance whatsoever of the US prevailing in the oncoming war.
