Creating the Conditions for Durable Survival

The danger of war is our greatest threat, and the creation of an effective economic policy is our greatest necessity.

With Donald Trump’s cancellation of a planned attack on Iran—claimed to be in relation to Iran’s downing of a U.S. drone supposedly in international air space—a catastrophic sequence of events, leading to all-out war, was averted, for now. While the world can breathe a sigh of relief, what is needed is a basis for durable survival, rather than a series of defensive measures to achieve momentary survival. Our objective is to achieve durable survival for the human species.

Helga Zepp-LaRouche stressed that there is a powerful tendency for people to avoid thinking about the war danger, to give in to fear or terror and block it out. To allow this would be disastrous!

Against this threat, promise is shown in several positive developments: both the U.S. and Russia have confirmed that a Trump-Putin meeting is scheduled; the Global Times has come out excoriating Pompeo for undermining the intentions of Trump; Pence’s planned June 24 provocative speech against China has again been postponed; and Putin responded to a question about continuing to treat the U.S. as partners, despite the repeated attacks on Russia’s economy and dignity, by referencing the beautiful architecture of his hometown, St. Petersburg, contributing to his underlying view of the beauty and potential of the human species.

The New Paradigm increasingly gripping the world threatens to entirely replace the dying British system, and it is precisely to prevent this new outlook from taking firmer hold in the world that the British are pushing for war and chaos, including trying to push Trump out of the way to do so. Think back to the Helsinki meeting. Immediately beforehand, Team Mueller released an indictment of purported Russian hackers, an indictment whose release was timed to sabotage that meeting. With the G20 coming up this Friday, we again see attempts to scuttle the potential for Trump-Xi-Putin cooperation.

Now, we see the crisis over Iran—reflecting a major weakness in Trump’s world outlook—being used as the provocation point. In the case of Iran, no proof has been presented of Iran using mines to attack cargo ships. Was there a military decision to fly a drone inside Iranian airspace, knowing this would provoke a response? Iran has presented a map of the flight path of both the drone, and a Poseidon aircraft as well. Can we allow the pro-British intelligence, military, and government community to force the hand of the President?

Think of what JFK fought against in the time of the Cuban Missile Crisis. That President, too, was under pressure by forces around him. They sought to create events that would force or constrain Kennedy’s freedom to decide. Like JFK, Trump pushed against those trying to force his hand, and explained publicly his decision.

How can durable survival be achieved in the climate of the 2018 “John S. McCain National Defense Authorization Act” (NDAA), which allows cyberattacks on Russia, China, Iran and North Korea, and in the climate of punitive trade relations with China, trying to kill the China 2025 plan and push Huawei out of the world’s markets?

How can durable survival be achieved without completely smashing the Russiagate lie? And could this truly be achieved without winning victory on the exoneration of Lyndon LaRouche?

Russia’s President Vladimir Putin has frequently mentioned the steps taken by the U.S. that upset the global balance: The Bush-era withdrawal from the ABM, the ongoing assault on the INF agreement, the military posture that envisions the possible use of tactical nuclear weapons, the challenges to the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty (CTBT), and the coming expiration of the New START treaty in 2021. We have all read the reports of U.S. cyber attacks on the Russian electrical grid. Who is to say that such attacks are not also being made against Chinese infrastructure?

It is not only against U.S. participation in the New Paradigm that the British have deployed their forces. Chinese involvement in Africa, through indisputably win-win arrangements, has been subjected to countless defamatory claims about a “debt trap.”

Again, the dangers are real! Under the current NDAA, and with the stable of maniacs hovering around Trump, and with the unrefuted lie of Russian involvement in the 2016 elections, the number of potential flashpoints that could cascade to nuclear war are many.

The personal diplomacy between Presidents Trump, Putin and Xi this weekend can and must be the turning point. Cooperation for peace and development must replace the drive for war.
