Live every Thursday at 9pm Eastern, 6pm Pacific – You can’t change current history if you’re not involved in shaping it–in confronting, understanding, and shaping the dynamics which determine the events which manifest themselves to us. In the 1990s, Lyndon and Helga LaRouche launched a fight for a World Land Bridge, the largest infrastructure project ever conceptualized in human history, linking and crossing continents with rail lines, development corridors along those lines, new cities, and water management projects, all powered by nuclear and other forms of high energy density modes of electricity generation. It creates the basis for nation state to nation state cooperation on a different basis than the zero sum game which leads, under conditions of economic collapse, to war. It would lift millions out of poverty, produce millions of productive jobs, and fire the human imagination to multiple new discoveries.
Following the Civil War, Lincoln’s allies envisioned just such a project, putting humanity on a bold new path. The continents were being linked by rail, new discoveries revolutionized industrial production, breakthroughs in fundamental science were resulting in the ability to boldly envision space as a realm of human activity.
The British Empire intervened, then, with two world wars. They intervened again when Franklin Roosevelt revived Lincoln’s concept after the Second World War. They used the threat of nuclear war to preserve colonialism, control raw materials, and spread systems of thought appropriate only to bestial existence. They are intervening now with Russia, China, India, and the United States to play the same deadly game. President Putin has called for an urgent summit of the permanent members of the UN Security Council to discuss the way forward in combating COVID and emerging from collapse of the imperial system which we are experiencing now. It is urgent that this dialog take place and that Franklin Roosevelt’s pledge to end the British Empire be realized, lest we sleep walk into yet another British instigated world war.
