Sahra Wagenknecht and Dietmar Bartsch, deputy parliamentary group leaders of Germany’s main (leftist) opposition party Die Linke, have blamed Western countries for being the main cause for the current refugee crisis that Europe is grappling with—its biggest refugee challenge since the Second World War. “Western countries under the leadership of the United States have destabilized entire regions by making terrorist organizations, among other things, possible and exploiting them…. Anyone who turns the Near and Middle East into a hot spot with wars, drone terror, weapons supplies and conscious destabilization, is to blame for millions of humans having to leave their homeland.”

They said, “gangs of murderers, such as the Islamic State (IS), were indirectly supported and supplied with money and weapons by countries allied with Germany, which has brought millions of people into brutal wars and civil wars.” Wagenknecht and Bartsch criticized Chancellor Merkel for her conduct, saying that “if the Federal government just had a minimum of courage, it would demand that the U.S.A., being the main cause of the refugee tragedy, should at least shoulder a share of the cost.”

In addition, the two politicians call for an immediate end to German arms exports and for an increase of Germany’s development aid as well as its contribution to the UN World Food Program—which has warned that it will have to cut aid to refugee camps for lack of funds to buy food and medicine. Against the background of the ongoing refugee streams, the WFP is dangerously underfunded, as are related UN programs in general.

In Austria, the far-right opposition Freedom Party (FPO) has blamed the United States and the NATO military alliance for triggering the refugee crisis. “The U.S.A. and NATO have destroyed Iraq and Libya with their military intervention, bombs and missiles; provided financial, logistical and military support to the opposition against President Assad in Syria, and thus made possible the destruction, chaos, suffering and radical Islamism (IS) in the region,” Heinz-Christian Strache said on his Facebook page. “The U.S.A. for decades has started fires in the Middle East, and then has the chutzpah to claim that responsibility for the flood of refugees unleashed lies with Europe. That’s geostrategic detribalization at its finest,” he wrote.

Friends and associates of Lyndon LaRouche gathered Sunday, the 6th, to celebrate his 93rd birthday, which is on Sept. 8, 2015. Amid songs, poetry, greetings from around the world, and a special statement on the passing of a dear friend of Lyndon and Helga LaRouche, Amelia Boynton Robinson, who died on Aug. 26 at the age of 110, Lyndon had the following to say in his opening remarks.

“All right, we’ve come to a very interesting part of history. In the recent period, there has been a change which was launched first by Putin, and secondly by China.  And this operation, this twofold operation has defined a new condition of the economy of the United States, because what is happening now, is the change that is now about to happen, we don’t know what the exact result will be but we know the change is about to come.  And the point now, is, is the hope that we will throw Obama out of office, [applause] and do so in a timely fashion to force a change upon the policy of the United States.

“Without that, if Obama were to persist, in his reign and determination, the threat would be a thermonuclear war.  And a thermonuclear war today, the kind of thing that Kennedy tried to prevent, and negotiate and defend back on the Cuba crisis, is much bigger than what Kennedy saw and dealt with.  This would take out most of the population of the planet, in a rapid rate! Because you can no longer have general thermonuclear wars — and that ain’t one of them. [referring to a small plane flying overhead]

“We cannot tolerate another thermonuclear war; you have to think about what MacArthur did, when he found that his government, was launching a pair of sets of thermonuclear war bombing on Japan.  There was never a reason, a good reason, for a bombing of Japan: Japan was totally defeated and crushed at that time.  And the victory had been achieved by MacArthur.  But what happened, is we then went into the idea of going to thermonuclear war as such; we stopped the worst effect, of the Japan launch of thermonuclear war.

“We’ve now come into a period of tries for thermonuclear warfare again.  We’re in a stage which is pending toward thermonuclear warfare, launched chiefly, by the President of the United States, Obama. And therefore, the question is, are we going to be successful, in removing this threat.  Because were it to occur, what would happen would be a launching of thermonuclear war, on a scale beyond anything that’s ever happened before. And probably in a matter of a few hours, most of the human species would be eliminated in chain-reaction form. That’s where we are. That’s this undecided thing.

“But in the meantime, there are promising tendencies to prevent this from happening.  But what it requires is, Obama has to be thrown out of office, because if he remains in charge of the U.S. government, a thermonuclear war will occur, and there will be very few people living, after the few hours of the launch of such a war, under the order of Obama.  Russia would then be in a position to crush the United States organization, not as against the organization of the United States, but against the instrument, Obama.

“And that’s been the decision that has been made, by Russia: Not to actually launch a war, but only to act in order to defeat the forces that have launched that thermonuclear war.

“Now the time has come, China has stepped in to a policy which was already prescribed by Putin, and this was what you saw in the case of China this past week.

“So we’re in this kind of period of history.  Good things have happened:  We had something that happened in Germany.  Now, there have been a mass of people who have been driven across the waters, to die, or to die in other ways; die out of hunger, die out of drowning, cruel things.  And suddenly, in the course of this week, suddenly a good part of Germany, made a decision to open the gates to the succor of the people who needed aid from the German population.

“And this is a good sign, because Germany has many tendencies in it, but this was a very good sign, because the mere fact that the German government, or the forces of the German government would do that, make that change, indicates a sign that something better can happen soon!

“And that’s really the best message I have right now.  I think it’s the best message that anyone has to deliver right now. But the point is, we just have to operate on a nerve, operate in terms of understanding what the threats have been, and what they probably are continuing to be.  And I find myself in this age of my life, where I have to experience this.  It doesn’t make much difference to me, personally.  It makes a lot of difference to me for the sake of humanity in general.

“I’ve reached a fair age, if you know, in life.  [laughter] And my enemies are very acutely aware of that, and they’ve tried to succor me from survival.  But, that’s the time, we’re in this time; and it’s a very sombering time, because the facts as I know them are clear.  The conclusions are not yet fully drawn, but the threat remains.  And the awareness of the threat itself, or an awareness of the proportions and aspects of the threat, are something which is sufficient to inspire more Americans, in particular than ever before in recent times, to recognize that this is the situation.  And it’s people in the United States chiefly, who, despite everything else that’s wrong with what they’ve done or failed to do, they really don’t want to have a thermonuclear war.  And we’re getting a sign now, in Europe and elsewhere, that what Obama represents as pure Satanic evil; he learned it from his stepfather; but he’s about to be removed, we hope; and it should happen soon.

“But we’re just sitting there, preparing ourselves for the hope that the actions will occur which will prevent this kind of war; because the rest of the world in general does not want such a war.

“And that’s not a good message for this day in many respects, but it’s the best one I can give you right now.”  

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry warned Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, in a Sept. 4 telephone conversation, that reported Russian military activity to support the Assad government in Syria against ISIS could lead to a “confrontation.” According to the State Department read-out,

The London Telegraph takes note of the fact that President Obama met with King Salman of Saudi Arabia in Washington on Sept. 3, and a central topic of discussion was the Syria situation. The two British toadies met, the Telegraph reported, “to repeat their demand that any lasting settlement in Syria would require an end to the Assad regime. It leaves the U.S. and Russia implacably opposed in their visions for Syria.”

Reuters’ coverage similarly noted that there is a “seemingly unbridgeable international divide over President Bashar al- Assad’s future,” and quotes an unnamed senior Russia diplomatic source saying: “Proposals by our partners for the change of regime in Damascus are illegitimate. They only say Assad must go —and then what? I don’t think they have any idea. There used to be no terrorists in Iraq, the same in Libya. And now the Libyan state has fallen apart and the terrorists are roaming there.”

The week just ended has witnessed a dramatic strategic shift as a result of the coordinated actions of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping. Those actions prominently include: (a) The impressive Chinese military display during the Victory Day celebration (with Putin standing next to Xi throughout); (b) Putin’s flanking operation in Syria, whose exact nature is still a work-in-progress, but has the Obama White House visibly destabilized; and (c) the Sept. 3-5 Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) in Vladivostok, which centered on a whole raft of new Russian-Chinese deals, and which Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Morgulov characterized as “a large-scale, giant, long-term strategic task that, I am sure, will reshape the entire Eurasian space when implemented.”

In addition to his Sept. 4 keynote address, Putin met on Sept. 5 with the head of the large Chinese delegation, Vice Premier Wang Yang, in which Putin emphasized the “combat fraternity” of the two countries. Putin began their discussion by again praising China for their Victory Day celebration, “that reminds us of the tragedy of World War II, of the heroism of the Chinese people and our combat fraternity. Today we are facing quite a few tasks and challenges that we can and must tackle jointly.” The Russian President stressed that “cooperation between China and Russia in the Far East looks highly promising and significant.”

Wang’s response was similarly forceful, noting that Putin’s address to the EEF plenary “greatly enhanced our confidence in our successful cooperation.” He reported that, at the Ufa BRICS summit, Putin had personally invited Xi to send a delegation to the EEF meeting, and that Xi “attaches great importance to this event” and therefore sent his Vice Premier, and “accompanying me are ten government ministers and four governors.” He added that 60 leading Chinese companies were also present, representing revenues exceeding $2 trillion, “which is almost 25% of China’s GDP. I believe that after your address, our Chinese companies will feel more confident in the further successful cooperation” of the two countries.

Along with China, there were a total of 2,500 participants at the EEF. According to Russian media accounts in Tass and Sputnik, the organizers had only expected 1,000 to attend, but 4,000 people tried to register and they could only handle 2,500. There were 32 official foreign delegations, with the largest being China, South Korea, and Japan. From the Russian side, Putin was joined by several ministers and the governors of nine Far Eastern regions. Over 80 contracts were signed worth $19 billion, according to Russian officials.

China Daily Europe correspondent Zhang Chunyan quoted Mrs. Helga Zepp-LaRouche in Thursday’s European edition, under the headline “China’s Show of Force Combines Memories and Peace,” on European views of the Sept. 3rd Beijing celebrations of 70th anniversary of victory in the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the end of World War II.

Ms. Zhang wrote:

The article also reports on the comments by two other European observers. Rana Mitter, director of the University China Centre at University of Oxford, stated that “This commemoration reminds people that China made very significant sacrifices to help bring about an ultimate allied victory during the war.” And Kerry Brown, associate fellow at London’s Chatham House, said that the military parade “marks a momento of new confidence for China, where it wants to have its contribution in World War II more widely understood and recognized.” 

Obama is celebrating the visit of King Salman of Saudi Arabia with a high-profile Oval Office meeting just a week before the anniversary of the British/Saudi-organized 9/11 attack on the US. On Friday, an AP photo of Obama yukking it up with Salman—architect of the Yemen murders of civilians—was being posted in hundreds of articles. It shows Obama doubled over in laughter in his meeting with Salman in the Oval office. The two reportedly discussed Iran and their joint support for a “stable government” in Yemen, where the Obama-assisted Saudi attack and blockades have resulted in about 2,000 civilians’ deaths since the since the fighting began.

Underscoring the meeting’s importance to Obama, NSC official Ben Rhodes held a phone briefing on Wednesday night for reporters on Salman’s visit, stressing the US/Saudi partnership. RT reports today that Riyadh “expects more US support for its interventions” like the Yemen war, in return for not opposing the Iran deal.

The disgusting Saudi monarch reportedly rented the entire Four Seasons Hotel in Georgetown (222 rooms) and lined up scores of custom Mercedes limos for his entourage.

At the hotel, reported Politico, “Everything is gold, says one Four Seasons regular …. Gold mirrors, gold end tables, gold lamps, even gold hat racks. Red carpets have been laid down in hallways and even in the lower parking garage, so the king and his family never have to touch asphalt….”

But, Salman’s visit is also fueling the campaign to expose Obama’s protection of the Saudis by his refusal to release the classified 28 pages of the Congressional report on the 9/11 attacks, or otherwise expose the Saudi role in terrorism.

As reported on Sept. 4, just a day before Salman arrived, NY Times columnist Thomas Friedman nailed the Saudis and Wahhabis for their ongoing support for the ISIS and Al Qaeda terrorists as well as for their role in 911.

Yesterday, UCLA announced in a press release that, “As part of the Hammer Museum’s Forum, Sen. Bob Graham, former chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee and co-chair of the Congressional inquiry into the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, will address the 28 pages of the Sept. 11 report that remains classified. The event will take place 7:30-9:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept.10, at the Billy Wilder Theater.” The press release also says that there are “incessant questions about whether powerful Saudis funded Al Qaeda and some of the hijackers who carried out the 9/11 attacks.”

In covering the Salman visit, the Washington Times says that “analysts note that Saudi Arabia, along with Qatar and Turkey, is arming and funding a rebel coalition in Syria that includes fighters from the Nusra Front—[which] is widely seen as al Qaeda’s main affiliate in Syria.”

28pages.org has begun a petition on the White House website calling for the release the 28 pages, aiming to generate 100,000 signatures.

The extreme stock exchange losses and volatility happening because “some underlying events have occurred” (to quote JPMorgan Chase) originated in the Wall Street-London financial system, which is breaking down — not in China. Reasoned economic experts in the trans-Atlantic countries are admitting and explaining that the crash is trans-Atlantic.

Like the German banking economist who told EIR that the crash driver is the enormous piles of leveraged debt in the U.S. financial system, a noted senior U.S. energy industry analyst wrote “We Could See an Economic Collapse As Defaults Pile Up” in the industry website “OilPrice.” Gail Tverberg writes,

After recapitulating what she had written a year ago in the same location — that low incomes in the United States and Europe were dragging down oil and other commodity prices — Tverberg points out that commodities collapsed in the Summer before the crash of 2008 — then rose as long as Federal Reserve “QE” lasted. When it ended, “there was a big downdraft in prices.”

Included, is the danger of insolvency to the world’s largest commodity sales corporation, Glencore, which is reporting large and “unexpected” half-year losses and trying to restructure its $31 billion in debts.

The London Guardian headlines its “Business Leader” editorial statement Monday, “Central Banks Can’t Save the Markets from a Crash.”

And Counterpunch published Monday “The $2 Trillion Buyback Binge,” describing the 98% of all earnings and borrowings of major U.S. corporations going into stock market purchases, as crushing capital investment and driving economic collapse. The measure of leveraged debt to GDP in the U.S. economy, 4.0%, is higher even than the record peak levels it reached in 1999, and again in late-2007. That debt is what collapses to trigger a crash.

Stock markets in Europe and the United States resumed their fall this week.
