On Wednesday, April 29, a group of thirty retired generals and diplomats from the United States, Russia, China, India, Britain, Germany, France, Pakistan, South Korea, and Israel issued a dire warning that the world is in grave danger of thermonuclear extinction. The report, issued by the Global Zero Commission, chaired by former US Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. James Cartwright, called on the US and Russia to immediately reach an agreement to end the policy of “launch on warning,” under which the world is held hostage to a hair-trigger doctrine of immediate thermonuclear exchanges.

The 100-page report, which was preceded by a New York Times op-ed on April 19, signed by Gen. Cartwright and by Russian General Vladimir Dvorkin, the retired head of intelligence for Russia’s Strategic Rocket Force, echoed warnings that have been made by American statesman Lyndon LaRouche, and others, for the last four years, about the growing danger of thermonuclear extinction.

LaRouche’s unique contribution to the war-avoidance drive is that he has identified the underlying reasons for the growing threat of thermonuclear Armageddon, in the desperation of the British Empire over the doom of its global financial dictatorship, and the emergence of a truly human alternative in the BRICS and New Silk Road initiatives, led by China, Russia and India in concert.

The only problem with the otherwise appropriate call, by the retired generals and diplomats, for a thermonuclear de-escalation, through an end to the short-fuse doctrine of launch on warning, is that it will never happen—so long as Barack Obama remains in office as President. Obama is a witting tool of the very forces that are desperate to eliminate the vast majority of the human race—even if it risks thermonuclear extinction. He is not only a British agent; he is too much of a relic of his mother and her killer antics in Indonesia and other parts of Southeast Asia.

Only by removing Obama from office—on readily available Constitutional grounds—can the world ever be secure.

The same Obama factor is evident in the escalation towards war in Southwest Asia. With the recent days’ purge in Saudi Arabia, the hardcore Al Qaeda faction within the Saudi Royal Family has not only tightened their grip on power. On behalf of their partners in London, they are driving the region towards a perpetual sectarian war, stretching from Yemen all the way to the eastern shores of the Mediterranean in Syria and Lebanon. King Salman has sealed a secret deal with President Erdogan of Turkey to back Al Qaeda forces in an intensified drive to overthrow the Assad government in Damascus.

When Gulf Cooperation Council heads of state come to meet with Obama at Camp David on May 14, Obama is ready to throw his support behind the drive to blow up the entire Southwest Asia, Persian Gulf, Eastern Mediterranean region, by trading off support for the Saudi-led war drive in exchange for nominal support for the P5+1 deal with Iran.

Again, Lyndon LaRouche was way out ahead in warning, right after the Geneva announcement of a P5+1 framework agreement last month, that unless the U.S. really put the screws on Saudi Arabia, the deal would be nothing but a trigger for a big regional war. Obama persists in giving cover to the Saudis, by refusing to release the 28-page chapter from the original Joint Congressional Inquiry into 9/11, a chapter that details the Saudi funding of the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks.

For these crimes—and many, many more—Obama must be removed from office now. Anything less than that immediate action places mankind at risk of extinction. Not only is the President guilty of impeachable crimes against the Constitution. His behavior—risking a thermonuclear Armageddon—qualifies him to be immediately ousted under the 25th Amendment, which provides for the removal of president who is no longer physically or psychologically fit to serve.

A further Saudi shake-up is signalling plans to escalate against Assad in Syria. Crown Prince Muqrin was dumped from the succession, moving up Prince Mohammed bin-Nayef to Crown Prince, and Prince Mohammed bin-Salman to deputy crown prince. This puts the succession in the hands of the Suderi faction of the Royal Family, for decades to come.

This strengthens hardcore Wahhabi and pro-Al Qaeda factions in the Royal Family. The Saudis are now aligned with Turkey and Qatar to focus on the overthrow of Assad—in alliance with the Al Nusra Front, the Al Qaeda group in Syria. This puts this alliance at odds with the Pentagon over Syria. Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) leaders come to DC and Camp David May 13-14.

Egypt and Pakistan refused “boots on the ground” for Yemen and also for Syria, which is a big deal and a big problem for the Saudis. The Pentagon argues that Syria could become another Libya if Assad is overthrown with Al Qaeda and ISIS running loose, and they strongly oppose the plans recently consolidated in talks between King Salman and Turkish President Erdogan, to escalate the drive to oust Assad through fresh infusions of funds and arms, to pass from Saudi intelligence to Turkish intelligence to the rebels, including the Al Qaeda forces of ANF. Obama wants to placate the Saudis by supporting continuing bombing in Yemen, even though the Saudis are unable to defeat the Houthis.

According to Amnesty International, there are now some 57 million people who have been turned into refugees in the Middle East-North Africa region (MENA, in State Department-speak), “the largest refugee disaster since the Second World War.” Two analysis articles published by Russia’s Sputnik news service hammer at the catastrophe, and both point the finger at the Obama-British-EU wars in the region as responsible.

Pepe Escobar’s article, “How NATO Kills Africans in the Club Med,” attacks “humanitarian imperialism” under Obama as being responsible, especially the bloody overthrow of Qaddafi in Libya in 2011, but also the wars against Syria, Iraq, and Yemen. These imperial forces, Escobar writes, “are still on the loose, now killing—by proxy—across the waters of the Mediterranean after they destroyed a viable state—Libya, a secular Arab republic [and] installed a pervasive chaos trespassing a great deal of the Maghreb and Western Africa, and unleashed a massive humanitarian crisis.”

Finian Cunningham also points the finger at the wars in Libya, Iraq, Syria, and now Yemen for creating “the catastrophic and morally repugnant situation of the Mediterranean polluted by thousands of decaying corpses… Most of the people migrating to North Africa and thence to Europe are fleeing war and conflict, with a preponderance, according to the UN, of Syrians, Iraqis and Afghans.” Some 10 million Syrians, or half the population, “have been displaced and exiled as wandering refugees,” Cunningham writes. “What the European governments did in Libya, along with their American ally, is nothing short of a war crime,” and have made Libya into the “launchpad for millions of migrants being trafficked to Europe.”

A number of Catholic organizations, including most prominently the Vatican, are mobilized against Obama’s murderous Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), warning that it violates the concept of the common good and threatens human life.

In an article published in The Huffington Post April 28, Stephen Seufert, of Keystone Catholics, reports on the breadth of the Catholic mobilization in an article entitled “President Obama: Catholics Oppose Fast-Tracking the TPP.” While not all the attacks reported are recent, they nonetheless make the crucial point that the TPP will kill people.

Impressive is the attack on the TPP by Archbishop Silvano Tomasi, the Permanent Observer of the Holy See to the UN in Geneva, delivered on Dec. 5, 2013 at the Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organization in Bali, Indonesia. Addressing the widening wealth gap, Tomasi warned that “this imbalance is the result of ideologies that defend the absolute autonomy of the market place and of financial speculation. Consequently, there is an outright rejection of the right of States, charged with vigilance for the common good, to exercise any form of control. A new tyranny is thus born, invisible and often virtual, which unilaterally and relentlessly imposes its own laws and rules.” Tomasi particularly warned of the dangers posed by pharmaceutical monopolies and their control over life-saving medicines.

Lyndon LaRouche remarked today that Tomasi’s statement is an “excellent” one, and reflects “the South American influence”—of Pope Francis, who is Argentine, and became Pope in March of 2013. This, said LaRouche, “is the best political expression of the Papacy.”

A July 19, 2013, letter from the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops to U.S. Trade Representative Michael Froman, addresses its concerns on the TPP by quoting Pope Francis: “the goal of economics and politics is to serve humanity … every economic and political theory or action must set about providing each inhabitant of the planet with the minimum wherewithal to live in dignity in freedom.”

A direct challenge to the Democratic Party came from author Michael Sean Winters, writing in the April 23 National Catholic Reporter under the headline “Dems Need To Oppose TPP & Fast-Track Trade Authority.” It’s time for the Democratic Party “to cut itself loose from the insanity of liberal trade policies,” Winters warns, referencing Elizabeth Warren’s and Martin O’Malley’s opposition to the TPP. “This is a crucial moment for Democrats: either they will follow Sen. Warren’s and Gov. O’Malley’s lead and return to their Rooseveltian roots as the party that chases the moneychangers out of the temple of our democracy and defend the economic interests of the average American, or they will join their Republican friends in worshiping at the altar of the market. It should be an easy choice.”
