“Mankind is not a slave. Mankind is not a greedy person. Mankind is not a rich man. Mankind is not any of this stuff. Mankind is the continuity of the natural characteristics of the members of the human species, not the animal species, and not the oligarchs.” On Tuesday, February 3, 2015, during a meeting with associates, Lyndon LaRouche delivered a remarkable address identifying mankind’s essential mission today. On Tuesday, February 3, 2015, during a meeting with associates, Lyndon LaRouche delivered a remarkable address identifying mankind’s essential mission today. Below is a transcript of the excerpted remarks.

Now, what’s the issue here? What’s the fight about? The essential fight is located in the power and greed of the oligarchical and financial system; that’s what it is. Wall Street. What’s Wall Street? A bunch of thieves; of murderers and thieves. And people are in awe. “Oh, Wall Street; you’ve got to pay that off.” You’ve got to do this; you’ve got to accept that. That’s what we’re told; and the sheepish people out there go “Unh, unh, we don’t like it, but we’re going to have to eat it.” We have to submit; you have to be practical. You have to learn what authorities will allow you to do; what they allow you to think. And you do it; you say “I’ve got to be practical; I’ve got a family to support.”

“If mankind is crushed, if the cause of mankind is crushed, then the planet is meaningless. And therefore, what you have to do, you have to say, “what are the tactics, what are the strategies, what are the requirements?” Simply, look: Wall Street and everything that Wall Street represents, is an oligarchy, an international oligarchy centered around the British Empire. That’s all it is. It’s a stinking, evil bastard!”—Lyndon LaRouche, Feburary 3, 2015

But their families are not being well supported. As a matter of fact, the supporting factor in this thing is going down at an accelerating speed. So, what’s the folly? They’re all worried about the factors in the international economy which are the driving forces for wars, which are based on the issue of greed. How can Wall Street or similar kinds of places bail themselves out of the folly which they have created for themselves. And are willing to kill everybody on the planet, virtually; or set into wars which will do the job for them, instead of seeing the future. Because they looked at the present, the Wall Street power, the financial astrologicals; this is where the problem lies. There is, however, a very immediate solution; but people don’t talk about the solution, because they say “You’ve got to be practical. Wall Street needs the money.” And if Wall Street doesn’t get the money, they’re going to kill everybody, or eat them alive or something like that. They don’t think about the real solution; they think about what they have to do to placate the man-eaters, the children-eaters.

It’s very simple. We don’t have to bail out Wall Street; we don’t have to submit. All we have to do is, instead of complaining that Wall Street is persecuting you, you have to eliminate Wall Street. And you have to eliminate similar institutions. You’ve got to eliminate the Saudi Kingdom; you’ve got to eliminate other pestilences, which are pestilences. And you have to know how to do it. You have to organize institutions which did not previously exist; institutions which did not previously exist!

Now, you will take raw material from your own present experience, and you combine that raw material with what you know, and you’ll add something else, that something else, which is not copying somebody else’s behavior. And how do we do that? Well first of all, we have to tell people to stop being stupid. Now, you don’t just tell people to stop being stupid, they don’t take that kindly. They don’t like it. Maybe there’s some stupid people who like to be considered stupid; maybe it gets comforting, in the comforting experience. But they don’t like it.

But you have to have the guts to be the teacher, not the student. And to be the teacher you have to be qualified as the teacher. What do we do? Look, Wall Street and what it represents is bankrupt. Why is Wall Street bankrupt? Because it got an opportunity to steal everything, and now the larder is drained out! Wall Street is bankrupt!

And that is, we have to stage fights, to take the power and it out of the hands of the oligarchs. We don’t negotiate with the oligarchs, we denude them, and then… [sniffs] look the other way.

Mankind is not a slave. Mankind is not a greedy person. Mankind is not a rich man. Mankind is not any of this stuff. Mankind is the continuity of the natural characteristics of the members of the human species, not the animal species, and not the oligarchs.

I made the point on Monday, and I think our team was agreed on that thing, and we added something to that. We added to the fact that we have to organize around the creation of the authority which should be the only authority for humanity, the fact that humanity is characterized by the ability which no animal has, and no animal species will ever have, the power of creativity of the human spirit. And that’s the only thing that’s worth anything. Because that’s the only thing that makes a difference. If we lose all the wise guys, we lose all the animals, we cannot lose mankind.

If mankind is crushed, if the cause of mankind is crushed, then the planet is meaningless. And therefore, what you have to do, you have to say, “what are the tactics, what are the strategies, what are the requirements?” Simply, look: Wall Street and everything that Wall Street represents, is an oligarchy, an international oligarchy centered around the British Empire. That’s all it is. It’s a stinking, evil bastard!

So what do you do? Well, it happens that Wall Street is bankrupt. The British Empire is bankrupt. All of this crap is bankrupt in economic terms. And you’ve got all the big holes that are being inside the United States, instead of producing anything worthwhile, they’re making sinkholes, and also called stinkholes, and that’s what the industry is in the United States. That’s the industry on which the oligarchy bases its power. They are bankrupt! They’re collapsing!

“Mankind is not a slave. Mankind is not a greedy person. Mankind is not a rich man. Mankind is not any of this stuff. Mankind is the continuity of the natural characteristics of the members of the human species, not the animal species, and not the oligarchs.”—Lyndon LaRouche, Feburary 3, 2015

The problem is, that while the enemy is collapsing, the people by and large are collapsing faster than the enemy is. We have the power! What’s the power? The power is the power of creativity, which mankind has through mankind’s industry, the creative industry unique to the human species. All we have to do, is pull this system together, and say, these are the wastelings, these are the useless ones, these are the stinkers. We, mankind, having in our power of creativity, the ability to produce what these animals could never produce.

And therefore, when you start showing respect for Wall Street, and capitulate to Wall Street, and not saying, “Stupid, hey, look at the stupid man: How do you know he’s a stupid man? He’s driving a Cadillac.” [laughter] Or something like that.

And this is the issue. And that’s the issue which I apotheotically am presenting here, now, as a theme. All we have to do — they’re all bankrupt, all these institutions are bankrupt, in every part of the world; these oligarchical institutions are financially, economically, bankrupt! They’re going to die anyway! Well, let’s put ’em out their misery. Because mankind and the creative powers of mankind — how is it we have so many people, when the children after one generation after the other, is more stupid, more putrid than the one before. And we allow this to happen, we allow people to be educated, or miseducated and turned into miserable creatures, into people who are nothing but prostitutes looking for a profession? We turn one generation after the other worse than the next one before. And we sit there, and we accept that; we say, these are realities, this is the experience of mankind? It is not. And therefore we have to assert the authority which we have.

But the problem is that people are scared, easily. They become scared, because somebody might kill ’em, particularly someone who offends the oligarchy, who offends Obama, who offends some other creep like that; and they’re afraid. They say they have to bargain, they have to negotiate with the people that are going to destroyed, them otherwise, if they allow that.

The answer is now, we have to organize the international process, which supplements what is being done in Asia and in parts of South America. What we have to do, is simply take over. And at all costs, take over.

Now, when you take that kind of approach, and that kind of policy, there’s a risk involved. There’s a risk of your mortal life. But, if you don’t fight, your morality stinks and your mortality vanishes.

Final Remarks

You have to understand one thing, people think in terms of their ego, and they think in terms of a fleshly ego. They think that they want to enjoy a merry old life, and calmly slide into ennui. And the point is, that is not the factor which defines what our mission is. That is not the source of our strength, in fighting this mission. Mankind, by his nature, dies as an individual. Every human being dies and will die as an individual. So therefore, if you’re fighting to defend an individual, as an individual per se, what is the reality of your activity? What’s your achievement? Hmm?

Now, the fact of the matter is, if you understand history, and I do specialize in history, I think of everything in terms of history, past and present and future; in that you have you locate your identity in the right place. Not that you’re going to win the battle, personally. That’s not it. Many people who have fought the battle, have earned the fruit of it, but it has come as a part of the fruit, not as something they can walk away with. And if you look back at the history of mankind and whole civilizations and societies, you see that is the nature of things. So the thing is not how long you can live, biologically, the question is, for what do you live? To what effect, for humanity as a whole? And this not like throwing yourself on the pyre to be burned alive, or something like that; this is not what we’re talking about. What we’re talking about that, in the normal course of life, and the normal course of life, has a very large range, of differences; it happens one way or the other. A child is born, and dies. What does that mean? Well, the parents are the only ones who know about that, or the parents that [inaudible 49:32] people know that. So what do they know? They know that the existence of that child, for as long as that child live, can show us, a product which contributes to the triumph of humanity, in its quarrel.

You don’t find ways in which individual people get great rewards, as such. It’s not a matter of payments. It’s a matter, do you realize — I mean, the very essence of Christianity as doctrine, in terms of the question of Christ, is exactly that term. The Romans killed him. They murdered him! They tried to murder everyone who worked with him. They destroyed how many did the Romans destroy, in their hatred against Christianity? What was their crime? Every leader, virtually, in the whole effort to defeat the Roman Empire, died prematurely, so to speak, hmm? Yet, why did they live, then? What’s the motive for living under such cases? The motive is humanity per se.

Mankind is not an animal. Mankind bears flesh and things of that sort, but that’s the impediment, and the impediment does tend to wear down after a while. I sort of hold on to not being an impediment, because I have a job to do.

But the point is, the war is won by continuing the struggle to eliminate what should never have existed in the first place. Everything is, the creativity of mankind, what men and women have done in order to move society out of the evil that has dominated it, who fought wars to defend mankind, who suffered, in order to beat the tyrant, Zeus. And that’s how Zeus is defeated! Zeus is defeated by the forces of humanity, which fight him. And we find that this force that we can summon, in terms of understanding that principle, is a principle which all of us — I guess a few of us — lived through World War II and beyond. I went through the process; I was not a big hero in the biological sense. But, by the time I left military service, I was making revolutions, until I got shipped out of the Middle East, out of there, and therefore, I had to go out and find a new way to get my job back again. Because my job was making revolutions. That’s what I did in India, during the time I was there. I was running a war against the British forces who were committing mass murder against the Indians.

And I spend most of my life, in working in various nations and among various peoples, over the course of my life, my pleasure has been, doing that. I’m not looking for a reward. I’m looking for the pleasure of accomplishing things that have to be accomplished. And that’s the issue.

And the problem is that when people cannot face that distinction, of trying to win the golden something or other, to take it home on the mantle, that’s foolishness! That is not the power of victory. The power of the victory is the deathless capability, to cause to occur that which must be made. And that’s what makes the difference of mankind from an animal. And that distinction is the only distinction of a man from an animal. Unfortunately, too many people don’t understand that.

If you have lived, in a certain way, you have never really lived at all. Because when you are dead, is merely the obvious, and there is very little bit to say about the whole subject. When people die, as useless people, that is not useful for humanity as a whole, they’re not worth very much. And you have to meet that standard. I’ve been there. It’s not been the biggest thing in the world, to go through it, but I’ve been there, and I’ve always understood, you fight for the cause, not for your advantage. Your advantage is doing what you should do. And inducing other people, to follow that example, and do what they should do. And that’s the way, the only way, that you can conquer in terrible wars. Even without terrible wars, like is a trial and it’s sometimes tough to live through. But your ability to live through, in order to make what must happen, happen, that’s the only thing that’s important.

SEE “LaRouche’s 40 Year Record: A New International Economic Order”

You know, look at we, we’re in the United States; well, the United States is a pretty poor shambles, morally these days. We look at what the BRICS are doing, and we are sometimes charmed by the fact that the BRICS are doing things that we should have been doing anyway. And we’re seeing the fruits of the BRICS, of the BRICS’ works, and it’s an improvement for all humanity, the hopes of all humanity depends upon Asia and the people of Asia and Africa, some people in Africa. Some people in South America. Not from the United States, not from Western Europe, as colonies, they’re not the heroes! They’re the wastelings, there’s the guy that eats the other man’s lunch.

And therefore, you’ve got to go to this deeper level. It’s not something, the idea of become a great sacrificial lamb. It’s simply the idea of the normal course of humanity, that the human individual lives, if they’re wise, live for what they can contribute to the future of mankind, and that mission, and whatever the price is to pay for that mission, is the measure of understanding, of what mankind must become.

I have no sense of shame about my life. I fought the fight, and I’ve often won a few fights. I’ve been in various parts of the world, not all the parts of the world, but I’ve had some experience with it. And we’ve had some triumphs, not in terms of what I’ve got to triumph, I never sought triumph for myself; I sought triumph for things that had to be accomplished. And Helga and I’ve fought that fight all the way through. And we’re doing it right now. I’m going to die soon, so what? The question is what I’m am going to do while I’m alive, and what will be the effect of what I do?

And when you start worrying about how you’re going to win the war and enjoy the triumph, that’s a great mistake, and it’s that mistake that makes cowards of most people. They don’t want to give up the fruit of ego.

I haven’t fought wars in the sense of being a killer, but I fought wars anyway, and I spent a lot of effort in fighting wars, including fighting the wars against our own enemies with inside the United States. I’ve fought the wars of watching people who are actual martyrs of the United States, and seeing the shitheads that took over their jobs. And the opportunists who will sell anything, to buy anybody. And that’s where the issue lies, that’s when you get down to the core of the matter, that’s the test. And whether you’re old or younger, it’s all the same: Human life is defined by what? By the uniqueness of the non-animal human individual, the human life. Because the human life carries with it the idea of a mission, a mission which is immortal, that what the human life is in some way, it plays a role which is immortal. It’s that capability, that insight, that understanding which enables great wars to be won, when necessary. I’ve done it. I got by with it pretty well; you know, I got a few slaps here and there, but I never suffered any great problem. I’ve always enjoyed what I do, I’ve enjoyed with I accomplished. I don’t worry so much about the other things.

And that’s the spirit in which you have to live, if you want to win the war against the forces of evil. And the case of Christianity is just an example of that. There are other cases of the same effect: Mankind devotes mankind to the future of mankind, not in the flesh, but in the consequences, of the development of the power of life by any individual, to make a contribution to the future of mankind. And when you lose that, you lose everything. As long as you can stick to that, you have a mission.

So there are no cheap shots, there are no cheap explanations. We are human. We are the individual embodiment of the principle of the name of human. We are the master, the right master of the Solar System. And the Chinese scientists, working in space, are doing a pretty credible job, of trying to bring the Moon, the Solar System, under the control of mankind, and that'[s pretty good evidence of pretty good achievement. Mankind living and dying, for the sake of the future, of the mission of mankind, and rejoicing in participating in that mission.

That’s what you’ve got to understand! You’ve got to grasp that, there are no surrogates, there are no alternatives.

SEE “LaRouche’s Discovery”

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov delivered a sober but tough address at the Munich Security Conference (MSC) Saturday, recalling that there has been no constructive response to Putin’s proposals for a strategic partnership, made at the MSC eight years ago, there has been no interest in common security at all, instead there has been an American obsession with global dominance. Serious damage has been done to all levels of arms control; there has always been resistance against any mutual agreements like the CFE (Conventional Forces in Europe) and INF (Intermediate Nuclear Forces), with all the blame put on Russia. The present strategic crisis has been built up over the past 25 years of domination attempts by the West, and all so-called offers by the West have always included the assumption that Russia accepts the rules of the game set by the West—this even occurred to Merkel, when she once proposed an EU-Russia partnership agreement, which was sabotaged by the rest of the EU and the U.S., another missed opportunity to improve relations, Lavrov charged. The relationship between the US and Russia has failed the stress test, Lavrov added.

The Western-supported coup d’état in Kiev has but been the latest provocation, in a long series of Western military interventions in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Mali—although at least some arrangements have been found in those cases, in contrast to the Ukraine crisis. Look at who is gaining prominence in Ukraine: the Azov Regiment under Andriy Biletsky, people like Sergey Yarosh and Oleh Tyahnybok, all followers of Stepan Bandera whose birthday is publicly celebrated in Ukraine. If this goes on, and the world is at a turning point, we will lose control of all governance on the globe, Lavrov warned. Instead, agreements directly between Eurasian Union and EU should be worked on. We need to agree on certain strategic principles—there is the occasion of 40 years of the OSCE (originally the Conference on Security and Cooperation in Europe) and 25 years of the Paris Charter, which should be used, Lavrov urged.

In response to a question from the audience, concerning Russia’s alleged grab of Crimea, Lavrov answered that if the Western forces continue to operate like they have done, promoting the terrorists of the Maidan and the Bandera tradition, they should not be surprised at Russian counter-reactions.

The Obama Administration’s hints that it may move to send weapons to the Nazi regime in Kiev is causing a strong reaction in Europe against it. In the last 24 hours this was best expressed by French President François Hollande who told France 2 television, after he returned to Paris from Moscow that the plan under discussion includes a 50-70 km demilitarized zone between the two sides. He called for “rather strong” autonomy in the east.

“These people have gone to war,” Hollande said.

“It will be difficult to make them share a common life,”

he said. He also said that the current negotiations are the last chance.

“Because if we are not able to reach, not a compromise but a durable peace accord, we perfectly know the scenario: It has one name, it is called war.”

German Defense Minister Ursula von der Leyen, speaking at the annual Munich Security Conference, repeated her formulation of the day before, that sending arms to Ukraine would be adding fuel to the fire.

“I am convinced that concentrating on weapons delivery alone can only accelerate the fire and put us even further from a solution,” she said.

While Angela Merkel may be attempting to calm down the conflict with Russia, Helga Zepp-LaRouche wrote in an article for Neue Solidarität Feb. 6, when it comes to the new Greek government, the ECB, the Bundesbank, Merkel and Schäuble are acting like the blockheads (Betonköpfe) in the closing days of East Germany, who refused to change. For those people, Helga Zepp-LaRouche wrote,

“neither debt reduction nor a debt conference, such as that held for Germany in London in 1953, are subjects to be discussed, and the ECB in addition, with its decision to no longer accept any Greek government bonds as collateral, and to force the country instead to turn to expensive emergency liquidity, has gone for confrontation. European principles and treaties must be respected, Schäuble insists, even if that arrogance and intransigence will likely accelerate the demise of the euro.

“But exactly those principles and treaties are the problem. It was the Troika’s austerity policy which made economic recovery in Greece impossible, which slashed the Greek economy by one-third, and plunged the population into despair. From the beginning, I warned that the austerity policy in the tradition of Heinrich Brüning could not work. As early as February 2008, shortly after the signing of the Lisbon Treaty, I warned that ratification of that Treaty would mean signing a second Versailles Treaty — for all of Europe, that is — and that no one should forget that the first Versailles Treaty contained the seeds of the Second World War.

“[greek] Finance Minister Varoufakis emphasized in an interview with Die Zeit, that much suffering would have been prevented, had the Versailles Treaty been broken at the time, and pointed out that the Nazi party ‘Golden Dawn’ has become the third largest political party in Greece as a reaction to the austerity policy imposed.

“But while the blockheads only turn their tunnel vision to the banking sector’s interests … the image is being consolidated in the rest of Europe and in many parts of the world of the brutal Germans, whose medicine has poisoned the Southern Europeans, and who are now too hard-hearted to give the Greeks the same opportunity that the United States offered to Germany after World War II. Indeed, without the Marshall Plan and the 1953 Debt Conference, which cut in half Germany’s total debt and made payments conditional on the surplus in exports, Germany would never have developed from a rubble field into the country of the ‘economic miracle’ which was admired throughout the entire world.

“As a result of the ECB policy and Schäuble’s hard line, tens of thousands of people in many Greek cities took to the streets to support the Tsipras government. In Madrid on Saturday [Jan. 31], 300,000 people demonstrated. If the EU, the ECB and the German government stick to their refusal to compromise, the euro threatens to break up in chaos. The callousness of the Schäubles can only make the social catastrophe worse, but they apparently do not understand what historical processes are at play. ‘The World as Will and Representation.'” [A reference to Schopenhauer’s well-known work Die Welt als Wille und Vorstellung]

From there, Helga Zepp-LaRouche goes on to lay out the perspective of cooperation with the BRICS as the only alternative.

If the sudden mission to Moscow of Chancellor Merkel and President Hollande, and their five-hour meeting with President Putin, has failed this weekend — which is not certain, but the likely outcome — it will have failed on the edge of all-out war; Hollande said as much afterwards.

These European leaders certainly broke with Obama over arming the Kiev regime to fight Russia. But they remain locked in the disastrous British bankers’ concoction of the euro and Eurozone with its world-fascist treaties and rules for economic destruction. And it is this which ultimately drove the war confrontation with Russia and the BRICS.

Ask Russia to accept Hitler’s own Nazis dominant in Kiev and 30,000 NATO troops deploying along Russia’s borders in half a dozen countries? As Lyndon LaRouche insisted Friday, to clarify the real circumstances, “Get rid of Nuland’s Nazis! Otherwise you have no chance to avoid war.”

Helga Zepp-LaRouche, in a strategic assessment Feb. 6, strongly criticized Merkel: While trying to cool out the London/Obama war policy, she and her Finance Minister Schäuble demand rigid observance by Greece of the “principles and treaties” of the euro and ECB which are the ruinous problem for all of the European Union and will likely break it up. Helga reminds European readers that she warned in February 2008 the Lisbon Treaty would be a second Versailles Treaty, and like the first, contain the seeds of war and fascism.

The euro was the London financial imperialists’ prison for Europe — Margaret Thatcher’s and George H.W. Bush’s “British West Europe Company” — and it is London which is now out to make war on the BRICS for daring to grow economically and productively. Their puppet Obama clearly has alienated and frightened the European “allies” at this dangerous moment, but they are remaining slaves of London’s economic prison.

The new Greek government, however, will not agree to continue the self-destruction of their nation, and they have the expressed backing now of the great majority of Greeks and of expanding anti-austerity movements in other countries. Prime Minister Tsipras will formally announce his policy to Parliament today. Although EC blackmail threats are flying, Greece continues to go for debt renegotiation and investment in the real economy of Greece.

We have the workable solution, as LaRouche says, to kill the dead debt and derivatives bubble, crush Wall Street’s and London’s power while substituting new institutions of productive credit and linking up with those of the BRICS-allied countries.

And we have the uniquely powerful weapon against terrorism and war which we have created, the “28 pages” fight over the Saudi and British “Londonistan” responsibility for terrorism. The fight to declassify these documents is now reported, debated everywhere in the world, all the time. LaRouche stressed on Friday that that is not enough: Obama must be bludgeoned with it to force the actual release of the classified documents. He is covering the British and Saudi crimes of terror and war, and abetting them. He has to be defeated on that, and forced out.

Perhaps the most important instrument unleashed by the five member-nations, Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, that constitute the BRICS, at their July 2014 Fortaleza, Brazil, Summit talks, the New Development Bank (NDB) is now up for ratification and is in different stages of development in the BRICS member-nations. Expressing a sense of urgency to bring to life the NDB, which is considered by many analysts as the BRICS’ efforts to set up an alternative to the U.S.-dominated World Bank and IMF in the fast-emerging multipolar world, the Russian government has submitted to the State Duma, the lower house, a draft federal law on ratifying the agreement.

“The agreement envisages the creation of a multilateral financial institution — the New Development Bank — that will finance infrastructure projects and projects of sustainable development in BRICS countries and developing countries,”

a briefing note says, TASS reported Tuesday.

In December 2014, The Hindu reported, citing Indian Ambassador to China Ashok K. Kantha, that India has begun the internal process to set up the $100 billion NDB, aimed at funding projects in developing nations, and hoped other BRICS members would also complete the instruments of ratification at the earliest.

“India has initiated the internal process of ratification of the [inter-governmental] Treaty and we are hopeful that other members would also finalize their instruments of ratification soon,” said Kantha.

Kantha also pointed out to The Hindu that other member countries are

“working to expedite the ratification procedures to make the NDB a reality within the shortest possible time.”

A similar view was earlier expressed by Vadim Lukov, Ambassador-at-Large and Foreign Ministry coordinator for G20 and BRICS affairs, during his interview with Sputnik News reported on Nov. 14, 2014. Lukov said that “now all the parties are at different stages of the preparatory procedures for ratifying the agreement on the establishment of the [New Development] Bank. … Russia is also preparing to ratify this agreement. I know that the Ministry of Finance has already negotiated this document with the other government agencies involved. When it will be ratified depends on the State Duma,” Lukov added.

A 4,000-page court filing on Feb. 3 by lawyers for the 9/11 families, is putting a renewed spotlight on the role of Saudi Arabia in sponsoring the 9/11 attacks, and is increasing the pressure for release of the censored 28 pages from the Congressional Joint Inquiry.

Starting Tuesday evening, coverage of the explosive filings spread from the New York Times and CNN through the news media internationally and domestically. Importantly, the filings contained affidavits from two former 9/11 Commissioners, and from former Senate Intelligence Commission chairman Bob Graham, debunking Saudi claims that they were exonerated by the 9/11 Commission, and with 9/11 Commission member John Lehman calling for release of the 28 pages.

In 2013-14, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Saudi High Commission for Relief of Bosnia & Herzegovina (SHC), were reinstated as defendants by actions of the U.S. Appeals Court in New York and the U.S. Supreme Court, and the Kingdom and the SHC are now desperately trying to get themselves dismissed again. A blockbuster pleading filed last September, states that the success of the 9/11 attacks “was made possible by the lavish sponsorship al Qaeda received from its material sponsors, including the Kingdom and SHC, over more than a decade leading up to September 11, 2001.” It not only contains detailed evidence of how Saudi-sponsored “charities” financed Al-Qaeda in the years leading up the 9/11 attacks, but it also describes — in detail — how Prince Salman bin Abdul Aziz al Saud (now King Salman), was put in charge of the SHC and how he personally directed the arming and financing of al-Qaeda during the 1990s.

One of the exhibits attached to Monday’s filing, is a copy of the “Matrix of Threat Indicators” used by the U.S. military at Guantanamo. According to an affidavit by attorney Sean Carter, one of the lawyers for the 9/11 families, The Matrix of Threat Indicators identifies the ‘Saudi High Commission for Relief’ as one of the organizations within a list of ‘terrorist and terrorist support entities’ and indicates that ‘through associations with these groups and organizations, a detainee may have provided support to al-Qaeda or the Taliban, or engaged in hostilities against U.S. or Coalition forces. A number of other exhibits also deal with the role of the Salman-run SHC in financing and arming Al-Qaeda.

Leading the news coverage of Monday’s filing, is the more than one hundred pages of sworn testimony by would-be hijacker Zacarias Moussaoui, describing how wealthy Saudis and members of the Saudi royal family provided financial support to him and other terrorists in the late 1990s. Although Moussaoui was declared mentally-ill by his own lawyers in his 2006 trial in Alexandria, Va., and his public behavior was wild and erratic, nonetheless 9/11 families’ attorney Sean Carter told the New York Times that his impression during the taking of Moussaoui’s deposition was that Moussaoui “was of completely sound mind — focused and thoughtful.”

Among those named by Moussaoui in his deposition were former Saudi intelligence head Prince Turki bin-Faisal and Prince Bandar bin Sultan, the former Saudi Ambassador to the U.S. who has previously been identified as providing support to the San Diego hijackers, and whom EIR put in the center of the British-Saudi Al Yamamah terrorist-funding slush fund.

Whatever the ultimate value of Moussaoui’s testimony turns out to be, the furor surrounding it is shining a bright light on the already-established, highly-credible mountains of evidence of Saudi sponsorship of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, and is giving added momentum to the demands for release of the 28 pages.

Former Navy Secretary John Lehman.

Former Secretary of the Navy John Lehman, who also served on the 9/11 Commission, is calling for the release of the censored 28 pages of the Congressional Joint Inquiry, joining former U.S. Senator Bob Kerrey (also a 9/11 Commissioner) and former Senator Bob Graham, who co-chaired the Joint Inquiry. All three have just submitted affidavits in support of the 9/11 families in their lawsuit against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, pending in Federal Court in New York — which the Saudis are trying again to have dismissed.

Lehman is adamant that the 9/11 Commission did not exonerate Saudi Arabia from culpability for the 9/11 attacks, or of financing Al Qaeda in the years leading up to the 9/11 attacks — as claimed repeatedly by Saudi officials and their backers. Lehman says that he was, and still remains, deeply troubled by the evidence the 9/11 Commission developed concerning the support given to two future hijackers in San Diego by Saudi citizen Omar al-Bayoumi, and also by an official of the Islamic Affairs Department of the Saudi consulate in Los Angeles. He notes that the Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs is run by Wahabi imams, who have fueled the rise of jihadism and whose teaching provides the ideological basis of Al-Qaeda, ISIL, etc. All of this warrants further examination, Lehman asserts, adding that he read the 28 pages while a member of the 9/11 Commission and that there is nothing in them harmful to national security.

“To the contrary,” Lehman states,

“I believe that the disclosure of those 28 pages from the Joint Inquiry report would greatly assist policy-makers and the public in better understanding many of the threats we now confront.”

Therefore, says Lehman, he fully supports the 9/11 families in their efforts to obtain full disclosure of the records of both the Congressional Inquiry and the 9/11 Commission.

In his book The Commission, author Philip Shenon quoted Lehman on his inability to get any information out of the White House about the Saudis.

“They were refusing to declassify anything having to do with Saudi Arabia,” Lehman said. “Anything having to do with the Saudis… it had this very special sensitivity.”

Bob Graham’s affidavit filed Monday includes his statements made to the same court in 2012, that he is convinced that there is a “direct line” between some of the 9/11 terrorists and the government of Saudi Arabia, and that he believes that al-Bayoumi was operating under the direction of the Saudi government and the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, and was in fact an agent of the Saudi government. Graham says this evidence has never been fully explored and pursued.

Graham adds the Sarasota, Florida, story to his previous statements, pointing out that three of the 9/11 hijackers were linked to the al-Hijji family, who abruptly fled from the U.S. shortly before the Sept. 11 attacks. Also new, are Graham’s charges about the role of Saudi “charities” in providing financial support to Al-Qaeda. The 9/11 attacks could not have been planned and executed without a support infrastructure, he says, adding:

“I applaud the 9/11 Plaintiffs for their efforts to use the civil justice system to enlighten the American public concerning those important issues.”

The Bob Kerrey affidavit, the same as he submitted to the court in 2012, states emphatically that the claims by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Saudi High Commission for Relief of Bosnia & Herzegovina, that the 9/11 Commission exonerated them, are “fundamentally inaccurate and misleading.” Those claims by the Saudis are one of the principal grounds on which they are attempting, once again, to get the 9/11 families’ case against them, thrown out of court.

In Monday’s discussion with the LaRouche PAC Policy Committee, Lyndon LaRouche emphasized that the threat of thermonuclear war is upon us, and that it is a result of the Obama administration’s insane British-authored policies. “We’re at a doomsday time right now,” LaRouche said.

“That war can happen early, now — in the short term, this week, next week, in those terms.” LaRouche charged: “Obama is the author of global thermonuclear war!”

The pace of escalation towards war is indeed stunning. Jen Psaki, at the Feb. 2 State Department press briefing, was asked if U.S. providing lethal aid to Ukraine (as is now being actively promoted in Washington) might not lead to a proxy war against Russia. She responded glibly: “I don’t think anybody wants to get into a proxy war with Russia.” Obama’s objective is only “to change the behavior of Russia,” she said.

Also Monday, the Atlantic Council, Brookings, and Chicago Council on Global Affairs issued their much-promoted report which calls for the U.S. to up the ante against Russia by sending lethal aid to the neo-nazi government in Ukraine. It does so from the same delusional standpoint of “behavior modification” stated by Psaki:

“The U.S. and NATO should seek to create a situation in which the Kremlin considers the option of further military action in or against Ukraine too costly to pursue… raising risks and costs to Russia of any renewed major offensive… That requires providing direct military assistance.”

And DIA director Lt. Gen. Vincent Stewart Tuesday told the House Armed Services Committee that Ukraine needs additional help, because Russia and China are “the greatest threats to our nation… existential threats.” The Obama administration is now deploying to adopt that dramatic policy shift in short order, including a Feb. 5 trip to Kiev by Secretary of State John Kerry and a Feb. 9 visit to Washington by German Chancellor Angela Merkel, who so far continues to state her opposition to arming Kiev.

Lyndon LaRouche commented today that this entire campaign to send lethal weaponry to Kiev is nothing but “a smokescreen for war, for thermonuclear war.” Every informed political force on the planet knows that you cannot win a nuclear war in today’s day and age, LaRouche elaborated. It will only lead to mutual annihilation.

The remedy, he said, is to dump Obama—that is the only way to avoid such a war. Not that Obama is the only instrument that the British have at their disposal; he is not. And if he becomes too much of a liability, they will seek other ways to ram through the same policies. The British have a “team,” LaRouche emphasized, and it would be a mistake to treat a fluid situation like today’s as if it were a one-to-one connection.

We should get rid of Obama in the same way that you should always flush the toilet, LaRouche said. But it’s not the end of the war.

What really frightens the British Empire, he elaborated, is what is happening in Greece, and Cyprus, and is threatening to spread across Europe. Because that puts their entire global financial system in jeopardy.

Amid all of the back-and-forth around Greece, LaRouche said, it’s always important to watch what the hands and feet are doing, and not so much the words that issue forth. Someone has to throw in the alternative, the solution to the crisis, and that is our unique role. What has to be said, is that the entire system is bankrupt, hopelessly bankrupt, so what are you bargaining about? Instead of bargaining within a dead system, LaRouche said, national forces have to come together to dump Wall Street and their British and European counterparts, and then participate jointly in creating a new system which will cause the physical economy of their respective nations to survive and develop. Wall Street and the British Empire are a force of evil on the planet that must be destroyed. If we dump Wall Street, we can survive as people, and ensure that our economies go up, rather than down.

So cancel the system entirely, LaRouche concluded, and join in the construction of a real option for the future, that of a Hamiltonian credit system.

“Putin Must Be Stopped. And Sometimes Only Guns Can Stop Guns,” wrote Oxford University’s Timothy Garton Ash in the London Guardian on Monday.

“Diplomacy’s time will come again, but it is not now…. Ukraine needs modern defensive weapons to counter Russia’s modern offensive ones.”

Since the European Union is too divided to step up to that task, “it is now up to President Obama to determine the timing and composition of those supplies.” If that occurs, other NATO countries would also arm Ukrainian forces, on an individual basis, he wrote.

So much for the pretense that “color revolutions” are not simply another form of military warfare, as Russian military doctrine now recognizes. Garton Ash is not simply the latest voice to endorse the war program issued this afternoon by the Atlantic Council, etc. in Washington, D.C.; he is one of the top strategists of Oxford University’s “color revolution” project behind the notorious Gene Sharp. (See EIR‘s explosive Feb. 3, 2012 dossier, “Destabilizing Russia: The ‘Democracy’ Agenda of McFaul and His Oxford Masters.”)

On cue, the Wall Street-Confederate New York Times joined the war drive by Tony Blair’s “liberal interventionist” squadristi, with a front-page story Monday making its case that a “shift” is underway in the Obama administration towards providing “defensive” weapons and equipment to Kiev. National Security Council spokeswoman Bernadette Meehan confirmed that the administration Obama-ites are preparing to give the go-ahead to crossing this tripwire for war with Russia, telling the Times that

“although our focus remains on pursuing a solution through diplomatic means, we are always evaluating other options that will help create space for a negotiated solution to the crisis.”

Senior administration officials, all unnamed, assured the notoriously-lying Times that Secretary of State John Kerry and Susan Rice are “open” to providing “lethal” aid to Ukraine, as is NATO military commander, U.S. Gen. Philip Breedlove. An unnamed “Pentagon official” is also cited, claiming Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Martin Dempsey, and JCS Vice Chairman Adm. James Winnefeld—who had adamantly rejected such madness—now believe the weapons policy should be reconsidered.

Wartime propaganda is a British specialty, as Garton Ash declared in concluding his “guns to stop Putin” rant. He called for BBC’s Russian- and Ukrainian-language services to gear up their anti-Putin propaganda, with the British government footing the bill, bragging:

“The U.S. may have the best drones in the world, and Germany the best machine tools, but Britain has the best international broadcaster.”
