Once again, today, a warning from experts that the United States is coming closer to nuclear war with Russia or China.

This, the front-page lead story of the Sunday New York Times, simply repeats again, quoting new nuclear arms authorities, that new, smaller and more accurate nuclear weapons and hypersonic delivery vehicles are “meant to be used.” The Obama Administration is projecting spending $1 trillion on these weapons. The commander of the U.S. 6th Fleet admits in a CNN interview that NATO is expanding military capabilities all around Russia; including shipborne anti-ballistic missile systems just off the Russian coast. This, while both Lithuania and Poland insanely ask for the most modern U.S. nuclear weapons to be stationed permanently on their soil, immediately on Russia’s border. And while the United States injects into the South China Sea everything from U.S. and Japanese destroyers and carriers, to U.S. military drones, and projects anti-ballistic missile systems in Korea just outside Chinese territory.

Do not look for comforting explanations for the repeated warnings from Russian military planes against U.S. destroyers and aircraft along their coast. Obama is pushing for capitulation to geopolitical threats and encirclement—or for war, which will be thermonuclear war.

We are in a very late state of nuclear countdown, which cannot last much longer.

Why and how can Obama do this?

Because the tremendous worldwide economic growth and potential progress represented by China’s “New Silk Road” global infrastructure development, is seen as a mortal threat by Wall Street and the City of London, whose financial powers are bankrupt and loaded with defaulting debt. So, too, Russia’s Vladimir Putin’s strategic moves to end the endless Mideast wars, threaten Wall Street and London. They can lead to that “New Silk Road” being extended through the Mideast and North Africa in a “New Marshall Plan” of infrastructure building developed by the BRICS nations. The 6th Fleet’s Adm. Mark Ferguson spoke to CNN of NATO’s military capacity being “a very visceral threat to Russia”; but the “New Silk Road” development, not to speak of the deep space “great projects” being projected by China and India, are indeed seen as a visceral threat by the failing trans-Atlantic banking powers.

And the Wall Street and London powers, in their collapse, still control Obama; and still own Hillary Clinton, as richly shown, among other examples, in her 2013 gold-plated speech to Goldman Sachs.

The doomsday countdown of the dead British Empire continues, led by the Trans-Atlantic nations, manifest in financial disintegration, war provocations and toleration of mass suffering and death. One image of the process—comic but deadly dangerous—is Obama’s Defense Secretary Ashton Carter, who appeared today in the South China Sea. As in a re-tread of Gilbert & Sullivan’s H.M.S. Pinafore, Carter stood on the deck of the aircraft carrier, the U.S.S. John Stennis, holding forth against China, as the ship steamed west of Luzon.
 
It is tempting to get furious and be distracted. But, Lyndon LaRouche warned, on his April 14 national Fireside Chat with LPAC organizers, that we are not seeking “vengeance.” He said, “We have to defend humanity.” That means, put the blame where it counts, and act. Go for removing Obama, and breaking the doomsday
dynamic.
 
Besides provocation against China in the Pacific, the White House/London axis is conducting provocation against Russia in Europe. Over the past 10 days, Carter’s Pentagon officials have gone before Congress, demanding resources to upgrade U.S. defenses to counter ‘demon Russia.’ While this is, in part, crass maneuvering for a bigger budget, it is actual strategic policy, and deathly real in its implications for war. It came out yesterday (Politico, April 14) that there is a secret  U.S. Army analysis, titled, “Russia New Generation Warfare Study,” whose focus is on how to ramp-up U.S. defenses to exceed the modernized capabilities Russia now commands. The lessons that are in the study, are to be acted out in a war game in Poland in June.
 
What is the reality behind the threats? The financial economic pretense of Wall Street/City of London is in shambles. This week the “living wills” (contingency plans for failure) of five of the six biggest U.S. banks were rejected as not credible or workable by the Federal Reserve and FDIC. The Fed’s letter to JP Morgan Chase, for example, stated that, there is not even “one pathway for winding down the derivatives portfolio” of the bank. Note that, JPM Chase’s nominal derivatives involvement is $51 trillion! The Fed regulators stated dryly that, the “wind-down plan” proffered by JPM Chase is so deficient that, it “could pose serious adverse effects to the financial stability of the United States.”
 
The point again is, don’t get distracted. Don’t get side-tracked on irrelevancies. Shut this system down. Throw the bums out. The British system is dead, and the alternatives are either a new, viable future, or total chaos.

I’m interested, tell me more

The University Alliance of the Silk Road, a non-governmental, non-profit organization promoting international cooperation in higher education, welcomed Washington University in St. Louis as the first North American member of the Alliance, during a conference at Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU) in China, held April 7-10. The Chancellor of Washington University, Mark Wrighton, who spoke at the conference, joined the UASR executive committee.

“Strong collaborations with top research universities like Washington University are important not only for our university, but the future of the world,” stated Wang Shuguo, president of Xi’an Jiaotong University. Chancellor Wrighton added, “The Silk Road was the ancient world’s most important conduit of information and technology,” and this initiative is “one that will contribute to the development of human civilization.”

At the same time, XJTU formally joined the McDonnell International Scholars Academy at Washington University, which partners with 31 institutions around the world to attract students to obtain a graduate education.

In parallel, the BRICS Network University, the founding document of which was signed by the Ministers of Education from the BRICS nations in November 2015, is getting underway. It allows 12 universities from each BRICS country to enter the Network University, and the Russian ministry has just approved its list of 12, Russian press report. In November, representatives from the University of Johannesburg paid an official visit to St. Petersburg University to prepare for the Network’s programs in South Africa.

The goal of the Network is to create a new generation of professionals who can work in a multinational environment to “solve problems in economy and society,” St. Petersburg University reports. 

Tonight’s webcast featuring Matthew Ogden, Jeffrey Steinberg and Jason Ross will highlight the opportunity now posed by the simultaneous exposés concerning the 28 pages and Panama Papers, uncovering the dark under belly of the British Empire. Jason Ross will reflect on the outcome of last Thursday’s Schiller Institute conference in New York City with an emphasis on Mr. LaRouche’s principle regarding man and his creative powers.

Just as some western governments and the Saudi-backed Syrian opposition are declaring that the US/Russia-brokered truce in Syria is on the verge of collapsing, the Wall Street Journal breaks the story, probably based on CIA leaks, that the Obama Administration is preparing a “Plan B” for Syria, should the truce fail. According to the Journal, the CIA and it’s regional partners have drawn up plans to supply “carefully vetted,” “moderate” rebel groups with heavier weapons, including shoulder-launched surface-to-air antiaircraft weapons (MANPADS). The Journal reports that the plans were discussed in a secret meeting of spy chiefs that took place just before the truce took effect on Feb. 27 and in a number of meetings since.

Unnamed officials said the CIA has made clear to its allies that the new systems, once agreed upon, would be given to the rebels only if the truce and the concurrent political track toward a lasting peace—Plan A—fall apart and full-scale fighting resumes. The Journal doesn’t say whether or not the CIA has calculated how many of those weapons, if they’re supplied, would end up in the hands of Syria’s Al Qaeda affiliate, Jabhat al Nusra, which in the past has acquired up to half of the weapons supplied to other groups by the US.

Most ominously, the Journal writes: “The private message conveyed by U.S. officials to their Russian counterparts, who have backed the Assad regime with air power since last year, has been that the moderate opposition isn’t going away and that a return to full-scale fighting could end up putting more Russian pilots in danger, according to U.S. officials.” This is a virtual declaration of war on Russia, and will be taken as such by the Russians.

Frants Klintsevich, first deputy chairman of Russian Federation Councils Committee on defense and security, told Tass, in effect, that the CIA plan will fail.

“The situation in Syria is now developing not in accordance with US plans,” and that’s why “Russia is practically pushed toward unreasoned actions,” he said. “The attempts will not bring any result. We are rather thick-skinned. The US will not be able to return Syria to the state of chaos.”

Democratic New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, already a co-sponsor of the Senate bill to declassify the 28 pages of the 2003 9/11 Commission report, which dealt with Saudi Arabia’s role in that attack on the United States, told CBS News Monday that President Barack Obama should release those still-classified 28 pages before he goes to visit Saudi Arabia ten days from now.

Gillibrand has read those pages, CBS News reported, and “she said that the 9/11 families she represents deserve to read them, too — before the President travels to the Middle East next week.”

“If the President is going to meet with the Saudi Arabian leadership and the royal family, they think it would be appropriate that this document be released before the President makes that trip, so that they can talk about whatever issues are in that document,” Sen. Gillibrand told CBS.

Obama stalled. The White House told CBS News on Monday that “the declassification review is under way and that the administration hopes to complete it by the end of Mr. Obama’s presidency,” the Florida Bulldog reported early Tuesday morning.

With the heat on, Brett Holmgren, a senior policy adviser to the assistant to the President for Homeland Security, called former Sen. Bob Graham on Tuesday to tell him that the declassification review of the 28 pages will soon be completed, Graham told the Tampa Bay Times. Graham reported that he asked Homgren how soon he could expect a decision, and he was told “one or two months.” He added, the Tampa paper reported, that given the recent publicity about the classified 28 pages, including 60 Minutes’ April 10 story, “the decision-makers at the White House have realized the public cares about it and there is an urgency to come to a decision.”

A senior, bipartisan array of members of the two major investigations into the 9/11 attacks appeared on “60 Minutes” Sunday night, calling for release of secret documents which show Saudi Arabia’s involvement in the attacks. The program appeared just before Barack Obama’s final presidential visit to Saudi Arabia next week, and simultaneous with Congressional Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi’s press statement calling for release of the secret “28 pages” of the Congressional 9/11 investigation.

The agenda of Obama’s “crowning” visit to his war ally has surely now been “complicated.” The Royal Embassy in Washington of the Wahabite Saudi monarchy, weakened and not so dismissive as with previous 9/11 exposes, immediately denounced the “60 Minutes” broadcast as “a compilation of myths and erroneous charges that have been thoroughly addressed not just by the Saudi government, but also by the 9/11 Commission and the U.S. Courts.”

In the years since Obama first promised 9/11 victims’ families that he would declassify the 28 pages, he and the Saudis have been hand-in-hand in so much genocidal, or merely disastrous warmaking — and still are — that revealing Saudi responsibility in the 9/11 attacks would be a charge of dynamite, which would hit London as well. The “60 Minutes” segment began by stating, accurately, that there is “deep distrust” between the war allies, part of which arises from the obvious Saudi support for Sunni jihadist groups and terrorist ideologies worldwide.

Yet justice must, at last, be done for the 9/11 victims. Representative Pelosi stated that “As the former Ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee looking into the 9/11 attacks, I agree with former Senator Bob Graham that these documents should be declassified and made public.” Graham, on the CBS-TV program, said the hijackers had to have support within the United States, and when asked, “You believe that support came from Saudi Arabia?”, answered, “Substantially,” and indicated that he included the Saudi government. 9/11 Commission members Adm. (ret.) John Lehman, former Sen. Bob Kerrey, former Colorado Gov. Tim Roemer, all confirmed that most members of both investigations — including their leaders — want the 28 pages declassified by Obama. Moreso do the families, and EIR.

Most notable was Kerrey’s remark. The Saudi government for 14 years has relied on a single sentence in the 9/11 Commission Report, that it “did not find evidence that senior Saudi officials” were behind the attacks. Despite the extreme, deliberate ambiguity of “senior,” the Saudis have claimed, publicly and in U.S. Courts, that the Commission exonerated them. Kerrey bluntly told “60 Minutes” host Steve Kroft, “No, we did not exonerate the Saudis.”

Keiko Fujimori, daughter of former President Alberto Fujimori, is way out front in the vote count of Sunday’s presidential election, winning nearly 40% (39.5) of the vote, and a near majority in Congress, with 85% of the vote counted. As it stands now, Keiko will likely face a run-off election with former First Boston co-chairman and hedge fund owner Pedro Pablo Kuczynski (known as “PPK”), who with his 21% of the vote is ahead of the third leading contender, Green/pro-drug leftist candidate Veronika Mendoza by about a half million votes.

Everyone knows this is a vote for a return to the policies of Alberto Fujimori’s government, more than support for his more pragmatist daughter, Keiko. As President from 1990-2000, Fujimori defied London’s orders to capitulate to the bestial Shining Path and MRTA narcoterrorists, and mobilized the military and other national institutions to defeat the terrorists and drive back the drug trade. Within IMF financial constraints, he did what he could to bring electricity and roads to rural areas which governments had ignored for decades. When Fujimori then called for building a “United States of South America” around great development projects in August 2000, while his close associates were working on having American statesman Lyndon LaRouche visit Peru, George Soros personally took charge (with then-Secretary of State Madelaine Albright) of running (and financing) the coup which ousted Fujimori three months later. Fujimori is still in jail today, along with his top nationalist allies.

Luis Vasquez Medina, long-time leader of the LaRouche movement in Peru, welcomed Sunday’s vote, calling it the first opportunity since that coup 16 years ago that “Soros’s government” could be thrown out of office. Every government since the coup has been a Soros government, no matter the president, he pointed out. As a result, the drug trade has regained control nationwide, the mining companies looted freely, and almost no productive economic activity has been left standing. Now Peru must turn to Russia, China, and the BRICS, and fight to build the South American transcontinental railroad, Vasquez said.

Soros, the Project Democracy apparatus, and their media are gearing up their already-hyper campaign against Keiko, so as to defeat her in the June 5th second round, an operation which includes ferocious pressure on her to play by the rules of their game, rather than campaigning to lead Peru into the New Silk Road/World Land-Bridge paradigm. 

Squirming under the spotlight of the ‘Panama Papers’ scandal on the British imperial “offshore” banking system and his own personal finances, Prime Minister David Cameron is further exposing himself. On a sudden crusade “against tax evasion,” Cameron on Sunday announced a commission to investigate the Panama Papers—headed by a lawyer whose firm advised Cameron’s father on setting up offshore dummy companies!

Cameron had to testify in the House of Commons Monday on the whole subject, and was attacked for allowing dirty money from these offshore havens to take over London real estate, one example of the tax evasion and money laundering by which London has victimized nations all over the world. When Labour MP Dennis Skinner called Cameron “Dodgy Dave,” the 84-year-old Member was ejected from the House by the Conservative Speaker.

Cameron has also suddenly proposed new legislation making companies criminally liable for the tax advice their employees give. But it is his “world-class investigative commission” which has drawn ridicule.

It involves the Serious Fraud Office and the Financial Conduct Authority, both of which managed, for example, to miss the LIBOR-fixing conspiracy of Barclays and other major banks entirely. Cameron’s nominee to head the commission is Edward Troup, head of the Revenue & Customs (HMRC, the British “IRS”); he turned a blind eye to the entire Credit Suisse tax-evasion operation in Britain, exposed last year by whistleblowers.

Moreover, Troup is a senior lawyer ideologically opposed to all taxes! In a 1999 newspaper article, Troup described taxation as “legalized extortion.” His whole career was built on advising corporations on how to reduce their tax bills, before leaving Simmons & Simmons to join the civil service in 2004. And finally, Simmons and Simmons was the advisor, from 2001 while Troup was a partner, for Blairmore Partners, the set of dummy companies in the British Virgin Islands set up by Ian Cameron, the Prime Minister’s father, to handle the family’s wealth. The law firm’s name appears on dozens of emails and documents in the Panama Papers in connection with a number of companies registered with Mossack Fonseca, the offshore agent at the center of the scandal.

The Guardian determined that in its 30-year existence, Cameron’s Blairmore “has never paid a penny of tax in the U.K. on its profits.”

Official HMRC spokesperson said: “Before joining the civil service in 2004, Edward Troup had a successful career in the private sector, during the course of which he dealt with many companies…. Edward Troup’s role in HMRC has never involved responsibility for operational activities or direct dealings with companies on their tax affairs…”

Just 10 days before his trip to kiss the Saudi royal hem one more time, President Obama has been hit by a “60 Minutes” program on what he will not release—the secret “28 pages” of the 2002 Congressional investigation of 9/11, which reportedly describe the Saudis’ involvement in and support for those attacks. Democratic Party Congressional leader Nancy Pelosi called for the release of those secret pages, which is the promise to the 9/11 victims’ families Obama has repeatedly broken throughout his dismal presidency.

Will justice finally be done for the victims of 9/11? Not by Obama. He is embarrassed and under pressure from the completely bipartisan demand for the declassification. But he is completely allied with the Saudis in a murderous and disastrous series of wars, still continuing—Iraq, Libya, Syria, Yemen. The Saudi government immediately denounced the “60 Minutes” program, making clear the sick Wahabi monarchy could not stand such exposure.

Obama, in an April 10 interview, called the Libya war “the worst mistake of his Presidency.” He’s lying about it—his cancellation of the U.S. manned space programs was a greater crime against humanity’s future and this nation’s mission. And he continues total U.S. support for the Saudi “coalition’s” genocidal war in Yemen.

But the very lies show that the opportunity is there now, to remove him from office, the only way to really deal with these crimes before they include war—thermonuclear war—with Russia or China.

Then there is London, whose intelligence services have always controlled and used the Wahabi House of Saud. It has dominated Obama since he kowtowed to the Royal Family and Privy Council for a global bailout of Wall Street and London, at the April 2009 G-20 meeting.

London’s imperial “offshore” financial empire stands exposed by the “Panama Papers” global scandal: Half of all the hundreds of thousands of dirty money shell companies exposed in the scandal are in the British Virgin Islands; 20% of them were set up at the behest of a single bank, HSBC, the British “opium war bank” whose real name is Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking company.

British Prime Minister Cameron is ensnared personally in the scandal and may be forced out. Each new day’s action he announces in his suddenly discovered crusade “to end tax evasion” is a greater self-exposure and object of ridicule. Transparency International, the British weapon against developing countries, has suddenly “discovered” British tax evasion. The vast “London offshore” financial empire is under the spotlight.

And the entire London-Wall Street financial system of the trans-Atlantic countries is heading toward a complete collapse, as signaled by the emergency meeting of the Federal Reserve’s Board of Governor’s Monday morning and the equally sudden meeting between Obama and Federal Reserve chair Yellen Monday afternoon.

This opportunity will not come again. Leave the sinking London-Wall Street ship and take the alternative—the New Silk Road policy of the BRICS, for planet-wide great infrastructure projects, space exploration, and nuclear fusion science.

And throwing out Obama in the process, is the only action that could shake up the Presidential contest and bring out actually qualified candidates.

John Kerry is in Japan for the annual G7 Foreign Ministers meeting (Obama will attend the G7 Summit next month, near Hiroshima). Japanese Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida said today that maritime security will be among the leading issues on the agenda.

Kerry and the others will visit the museum dedicated to Harry Truman’s nuclear obliteration of the city on April 11, the first U.S. Secretary of State to do so. An unnamed U.S. official told Reuters there would be no apology for the genocidal atrocity, for which Gen. Douglas MacArthur had said there was absolutely no need.

And yet Kishida appears ready to discuss Obama’s drive for a new Asian war, this time against China, with Japan again on the imperialist side against China. China’s Xinhua editorialized April 9 that Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s government “has been trying to place the South China Sea on top of the agenda at the upcoming two-day meeting in Hiroshima, despite pressing issues of combating terrorism and extremism, and the refugee crisis troubling Europe and the Middle East.” They quote Wang Shaopu, director of the Japan Study Center with the Shanghai Jiaotong University: “Japan over the recent years has been actively adapting itself to the United States’ strategy of Rebalancing toward Asia-Pacific in order to build deterrence against China.” The editorial warns that “hyping up the issue at the G7 platform is also Japan’s attempt to sow discord between China and major European countries,” and to “win international and domestic support for the revision of its constitution this year to allow the country to declare war.”

On April 8, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi warned “relevant parties” not to put the territorial controversies into the G7 summit.

German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier, ahead of the meeting today, called for Russia to be returned to the G8. He told Germany’s DPA that “I wish the G7 format didn’t last long and that we provided conditions to return to the G8.” Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will visit Japan a few days after the G7, and Abe is scheduled to visit Moscow in May.
