In fact, the age group that least agreed with the statement that global warming is a fact and caused by CO2 emissions was that of 18 to 20-year-olds. The assumption that younger US adults are more liberal when it comes to global warming does not hold up; if anything, they are even more skeptical. –Emma Kromm, Harvard Political Review, 29 April 2015 New Survey: Nearly Half Of Young Americans Are Climate Sceptics From the Harvard Political Review, 29 April 2015 by Emma Kromm (h/t to The GWPF) At the White House Correspondents Association Dinner last Saturday night, President Obama got angry. With the … Continue reading

The Knights Templars were a secret society whose true purpose remains a mystery or is at least vigorously debated among scholars and historians to this day.  The Templars left behind many clues of their actions which have been passed down through generations, hidden in ancient manuscripts and discovered by archeologists in the modern era.  Their story is one that has captured the fascination and curiosity of people throughout the ages – were they sent to the holy land in Jerusalem to protect Christians on pilgrimages, or were they sent there on secret missions by higher authorities in order to unearth … Continue reading

The FDA has been on a crusade against natural medicine that has spanned decades. Their skepticism and perhaps disdain for natural medicine could simply be because at the moment, they are untouchable. In 1938, a U.S. senator (and homeopath) named Royal Copeland passed a law classifying homeopathic treatments as drugs. Since then, these products are deemed wholly natural and cannot be patented or regulated in any way, thus acting as a thorn in side for the FDA. In fact, under the law, the FDA is required to regulate homeopathic remedies as drugs, but at the same time acknowledges that there is no evidence showing that homeopathy … Continue reading

The western is the great drama of man in nature. The frontier reveals man’s true character, stripped of state and civilization, for better or worse. Over the decades, Hollywood screenwriters have influenced our view of the old West. Current perceptions owe more to 1950s westerns than actual history. Watching those old movies, it seems there was a lynch mob in every town, murderous gangs constantly preying on helpless pioneers. Only the cavalry or lawman could impose order on frontier chaos. As Ryan McMaken notes in his excellent Commie Cowboys, “Although John Locke may have been able to imagine a functioning … Continue reading

If our wars in the Greater Middle East ever end, it’s a pretty safe bet that they will end badly — and it won’t be the first time. The “fall of Saigon” in 1975 was the quintessential bitter end to a war. Oddly enough, however, we’ve since found ways to reimagine that denouement which miraculously transformed a failed and brutal war of American aggression into a tragic humanitarian rescue mission. Our most popular Vietnam end-stories bury the long, ghastly history that preceded the “fall,” while managing to absolve us of our primary responsibility for creating the disaster. Think of them … Continue reading

California – -(Ammoland.com)- I mentioned that gun owners are now considered mainstream in most of America.  Yes, gun owners have finally archived.. ordinary.  Yawn.  Measured across the nation, about one in eight adults have a concealed carry permit.  More than a third of American families admit they have guns at home.  This is significant because criminals act differently when citizens are armed.  My neighbor who carries is obviously able to protect herself, but she makes the rest of us safer as well.  This is more than theory.  We have experience to prove it. This is how the theory works. Fewer … Continue reading

Last month, we are told, the world enjoyed “its hottest March since records began in 1880”. This year, according to “US government scientists”, already bids to outrank 2014 as “the hottest ever”. The figures from the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) were based, like all the other three official surface temperature records on which the world’s scientists and politicians rely, on data compiled from a network of weather stations by NOAA’s Global Historical Climate Network (GHCN). But here there is a puzzle. These temperature records are not the only ones with official status. The other two, Remote Sensing … Continue reading

While researching the use of alternative therapies that were utilized by Suzanne Somers, we came across doctors and media outlets who desperately tried to malign her reputation. Their responses were so hasty that they accidentally revealed statistics that are not normally shared with the public. “We’re finding that about 25 to 30 percent of some cancers stop growing at some point, that can make some treatments look good that aren’t doing anything. Until doctors figure out how to identify which patients have cancers that won’t progress, the only option is to treat everyone.” — Dr. Otis Brawley, American Cancer Society’s … Continue reading

Sit down for a moment. Relax. Then clasp your hands together so your fingers entwine — don’t overthink it! Now look at your thumbs. Which one is on top — the left one or the right? If you are a man, the odds are it will be the left; if you are a woman, it is more likely to be the right. Now unfold your hands and take a look at your fingers, in particular your index finger (next to your thumb) and your ring finger (next to your little finger). It can be quite subtle, but in men the … Continue reading

Sugar and carbohydrates are the real culprits in the obesity epidemic – and the public has been falsely told that couch potato lifestyles are to blame, a new report has claimed. Writing in the British Journal Of Sports Medicine, they said poor diet now generates more disease than physical inactivity, alcohol and smoking combined. The editorial, by a group of cardiologists and sports experts, says that while obesity has rocketed in the past 30 years there has been little change in physical activity levels. “This places the blame for our expanding waistlines directly on the type and amount of calories … Continue reading

For those unfamiliar with the crime drama series Breaking Bad – and unbothered by a spoiler of sorts – there is a memorable episode in which a member of the Mexican cartel becomes a police informant. When his drug-dealing associates find out they wreak their revenge by cutting off the informant’s head and sticking it on top of a tortoise (for reasons too nefarious to go into). The gruesome human/tortoise amalgam is then (slowly) unleashed into the desert to serve as a reminder to watching officers and other potential traitors that the cartel is not to be messed with. As … Continue reading
