US Imperialism in Haiti. Criminality of the Michel Martelly Regime

Wars, Penury, and the Power Elite
From the Bionic Mosquito Today’s DB interview is with Daniel McAdams, from the Ron Paul Institute for Peace and Prosperity. The interview offers a valuable reminder that war is the issue for all individuals concerned with libertarian, liberal, and free-market (e.g. Austrian) ideas. I offer only a couple of quotes from the interview: I view [the Institute’s] number one priority to be fighting war propaganda. Calling out the lies of the neocons and a lapdog mainstream media that walks lock-step with the US regime, regardless of which party is in power. I am not aware of many organizations that do … Continue reading →
How To Master Ham Radio
On April 18th, I will be taking the test to get my Technician Class HAM radio license. This is something I have been meaning to do for quite some time but honestly? I got so wrapped up with getting my equipment, two Baofeng UV5 radios, to work that I lost sight of the goal. To prepare for my test, I have been studying Dan Romanchik’s free guide “The Non-Nonsense Technician Class License Study Guide” which is all good. But still niggling me was the sense of failure at setting up my HAM radios. The crazy thing is this: the license … Continue reading →
Dream of Owning a Muscle Car?
Owning an old muscle car can be a lot of fun. But it’s not all fun – and you ought to know what you’re getting yourself into before you get yourself into it. First, some definitions. Muscle cars are old. Nothing new – nothing modern – qualifies as a muscle car. The defining attribute of a muscle car is not horsepower or performance. Nor that it has a V8 engine feeding power to the rear wheels. There are many new (and modern) cars that do that. And they are not muscle cars, even if some of them look like they might … Continue reading →
Revenge of the Unscrupulous and Mediocre
… such stuff as madmen Tongue, and brain not; either both, or nothing, Or senseless speaking, or a speaking such As sense cannot untie. Cymbeline, Act 1, scene v . All doctors have noticed that when one of their colleagues, goes over to the other side – Management, I mean – he soon begins to speak a kind of language that is neither colloquial nor technical nor philosophical nor literary nor precise nor poetic nor even quite human, howsoever clearheaded and lucid he may have been beforehand. Your Bones
BONE HEALTH is not just about calcium. Bone health is a function of the way minerals are absorbed and used by the body. Healthy bones also depend on the right combination of minerals. Too many supplements contain only calcium and vitamin D. I have been recommending calcium balanced with magnesium and trace minerals for years. Taking MAGNESIUM alone with no calcium will help bone health. Many Americans are deficient in magnesium. Low levels of magnesium are associated with high blood pressure, kidney stones, heart disease and diabetes. Magnesium is a natural calcium channel blocker which helps to hold calcium in … Continue reading →
A New World Order Emerges
China and Russia have taken the lead in establishing the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), seen as a rival organisation to the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank, which are dominated by the United States with Europe and Japan. These banks do business at the behest of the old Bretton Woods* order. The AIIB will dance to China and Russia’s tune instead. The geopolitical importance was immediately evident from the US’s negative reaction to the UK’s announcement this week that it would join the AIIB. And very shortly afterwards France, Germany and Italy also defied the US and announced … Continue reading →
Bibi Puts Israel First
In November 1956, President Eisenhower, enraged he had not been forewarned of their invasion of Egypt, ordered the British, French and Israelis to get out of Suez and Sinai. They did as told. How far we have fallen from the America of Ike and John Foster Dulles has been on painful display this March. An Israeli leader told a joint session of Congress that President Obama’s nuclear deal with Iran is stupid and dangerous and must be rejected. Congress gave him 40 ovations. Bibi Netanyahu then went home and told the world there will be no Palestinian state, and was … Continue reading →
A Crossbow Could Shoot Twice as Far as a Modern Rifle
A 2,200-year-old crossbow which some experts believe could have been almost twice as powerful as a modern-day assault rifle has been discovered among the Terracotta Warriors. The crossbow, which was found intact this week, could have shot an arrow up to 2,600 feet – about the length of nine football pitches, the People’s Daily Online reported. The discovery is particularly exciting as experts believe the crossbow may hold the secret to the success of China’s first emperor, Qin Shi Huang. The crossbow, which was found half-buried next to one of the terracotta statues, was discovered by archaeologists working at the site. It is … Continue reading →
