‘Growing up in a Jehovah’s Witness family is different. As a child, I didn’t celebrate birthdays, Christmas or July 4. Nor did I, or anyone I knew, mix with non-Witness families in Little League or […]

“The game is rigged, the network is bugged, the government talks double-speak, the courts are complicit and there’s nothing you can do about it.”—David Kravets, reporting for Wired Nothing you write, say, text, tweet or share via phone or computer is private anymore. As constitutional law professor Garrett Epps points out, “Big Brother is watching…. Big Brother may be watching you right now, and you may never know. Since 9/11, our national life has changed forever. Surveillance is the new normal.” This is the reality of the internet-dependent, plugged-in life of most Americans today. A process which started shortly after 9/11 … Continue reading

On February 25, I wrote this report: Yellen Says No Rate Hikes, As I Knew She Would. Yesterday, the Dow was up 227 points at the end of the day — a swing of over 400 points. For what? For nothing. No action taken on rates. Of course there was no action taken on rates. There was no way the FED was going to raise rates. It is time to reproduce what I published on February 25. Nothing has changed. The Federal Reserve System cannot raise rates. It only pretends that it can. It cannot raise short-term T-bill rates. It … Continue reading

Janet’s Yellen’s pettifogging today about her patient lack of impatience was downright pathetic. Her verbal hair-splitting is starting to make medieval ritual incantations sound coherent by comparison. But unlike the financial media’s dopey dithering about “dot plots”, Yellen at least has something to hide behind all the gibberish.  Namely, she and her merry band of money printers are becoming more petrified each month that they will trigger a thundering Wall Street hissy fit if they move to “normalize” interest rates—-even as they are slowly beginning to realize that continuance of ZIRP much longer will only intensify the market’s addiction to rampant … Continue reading

You’re going about your day when the urge to eat sets in. Sure, you might be physically hungry…but it’s possible you’re seeking a security blanket to alleviate stress. Or perhaps you’re just bored. Use “The Broccoli Test” to identify emotional hunger and stop it from ruining your diet. There’s a reason that “comfort food” exists. When you’re stressed, your brain seeks ways to alleviate these stressors by eating certain foods, resulting in unwanted calories. If this weren’t bad enough, the act of self-medicating with comfort food also increases your body’s propensity to store abdominal fat, leading to greater risk of … Continue reading

Phoenix, AZ—Prosecutors went to the Court of Last Resort to salvage their soiled reputations and that of a disgraced former cop. Finally Debra Milke is free even though she already paid a price far greater than that of most convicted murderers in America. It was not just Prosecutorial Misconduct that freed Milke but it was really about her innocence. Had there been a retrial there was not a scintilla of a chance they’d have re-convicted Milke.  This was just nothing more than an “Hail Mary” effort to limit corrupt official’s liability under the doctrine of Collateral Estoppel.  That’s legalese that would decree in a civil lawsuit that … Continue reading

Collapse currency is a necessary shtf insurance policy we need to invest in for our long-term longevity. With this idea in mind, when we look at the concept of investing and wealth preservation for uncertain times, we want to employ a strategy that will provide as much coverage as possible so that if we are hit out of the blue with something totally unexpected, we’ll at least have the basic necessities to survive. One of the most popular shtf currencies many have invested in is gold and silver. While these are the currencies of kings, many believe it may not … Continue reading
