‘The wave of joyous solidarity at the Greek “No” vote still resounds across the world today, revealing millions who identify with the struggle and have had enough of being bullied and controlled. Whether it is Euro bullies, other governments or corporations, the sight of a country shaking its fist in a fight for the people […]

Some doctors have committed crimes such as fraud, perverting the course of justice, cruelty to a child and death by dangerous driving. […]

‘The German Patriot air and missile defense systems, stationed at the Turkish border with Syria, have carried out “unexplained” commands allegedly issued by unknown hackers, according to a German media report since rebutted by the government. The US-produced missile systems, belonging to the German Bundeswehr armed forces and based on the territory of NATO ally […]

Last week we saw an encouraging sign that the 50 year cold war between the US and Cuba was finally coming to an end. President Obama announced on Wednesday that the US and Cuba would restore full diplomatic relations and that embassies could be re-opened in each country by the end of the month. For this achievement, which was resisted by vested interests in the US, Obama should be praised. However we shouldn’t be too optimistic about truly establishing normal relations until we understand how relations became so abnormal in the first place. The destruction of relations between the two … Continue reading

Last week the Greek government imposed capital controls to prevent cash from escaping from the Greek banking system, which is on the brink of collapse.  These repressive financial measures, which were invented by “Hitler’s banker” Hjalmar Schacht in the 1930s, include the closing of banks,  limiting cash withdrawals from ATMs to 60 euros ($67) per day, and the banning of all money transfers via credit and debit cards to accounts held in foreign countries.  Despite these Draconian controls, Greek banks continue to hemorrhage cash and, after yesterday’s referendum, it is probable that the daily limit on withdrawals from ATMs will be tightened.  Worse yet, the reeling Greek public suffered another … Continue reading

– World is “over-indebted”, Mark Faber tells Bloomberg – “Defaults will follow or they will have to create very high inflation rates” – Greece will leave EU or Troika will take 50% “haircut” – Leaving EU may be Greece’s best option – Anti-Austerity groups in other countries will be bolstered by Greek defiance – may have negative impact on bonds – Recent stock market weakness due to weak global economy rather than Greece – Chinese economy weak, markets could fall further – Central banks to use Greece and China as excuse to maintain loose policy – Faber is long-time advocate … Continue reading

There have been many books written about the assassination of President Kennedy, so many, generating so much bewildering debate, in fact, that many people have given up trying to understand the event and its significance. But despite all that, I want to recommend without reservation this book by a Catholic theologian and peace activist, which is unique in many respects and provides an education that all supporters of peace and progress need  as we struggle to overcome the danger of right-wing extremism. This is the only book on the assassination recommended by the Kennedy family:  “It has distilled all the … Continue reading

Matthew 8:12 “But the subjects of the kingdom will be thrown outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” The Supreme Court ruling apparently has Christians living as exiles in their own country, this according to Rod Dreher: …orthodox Christians must understand that things are going to get much more difficult for us. We are going to have to learn how to live as exiles in our own country. You might think that the verse I cite above is in reference to these exiled Christians in the United States.  You would be wrong.  I mean … Continue reading

One in five of us use online passwords that we haven’t changed in a decade, a study shows. And almost half – 47 per cent – rely on at least one password that has not been changed for five years. Worryingly, a staggering 73 per cent of online accounts are activated by the same password we use for another account. Indeed, on average we have just six unique passwords to protect 24 online accounts. This trend leaves people exposed to the ‘domino effect’ – where a hacker compromises a user’s password for one service to access all of their accounts. … Continue reading

The totalitarian socialists among us who try to disguise their true beliefs by calling themselves “progressives” are currently in the middle of one of their periodic fits of hyper-PC hysteria.  Upon learning that the mentally deranged, drugged-up little monster who murdered all those people in a Charleston church had his picture taken with a Confederate flag, the “progressives” commenced a new crusade to obliterate not only the Confederate flag from American memory, but also the memory of anyone in history whose views on race are not identical to theirs.  They have even called for the demolition of the Jefferson Memorial; … Continue reading

*NYSE SUSPENDS TRADING IN ALL SECURITIES * * * The New York Times, citing floor trades, said new software to blame… The market outage has stretched to two hours. Official say a cyber-attack is not to blame. “Trader on the floor of the exchange in lower Manhattan, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said that after the suspension began, traders were told that the problem was related to updated software that was rolled out before markets opened on Wednesday. According to the trader, the exchange said that the new software caused problems soon after trading began on Wednesday and … Continue reading

Back when I got in the car sales business, I had to go through a weeklong training session.  The man doing the training said many things, but one thing that stuck with me was “there is no way a part-time customer who buys a car every five years can outsmart a full-time car salesman”.  There is a lot of truth in that statement, although with the Internet, the playing field has leveled somewhat.  I still hear from listeners who make some classic mistakes, which I want to cover in this article. *Not trusting your gut:  If you are in a … Continue reading

By Dr. Mercola Every five years, the US Departments of Agriculture (USDA) and Health and Human Services (HHS) convene a 15-member panel to update the nation’s dietary guidelines. The panel’s mission is to identify foods and beverages that help you achieve and maintain a healthy weight, promote health, and prevent disease. In addition to guiding the public at large, the guidelines significantly influence nutrition policies such as school lunch programs and feeding programs for the elderly. The Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee (DGAC) scientific report is an integral part of this process, as it serves as the foundation for the development … Continue reading
