‘NatWest customers were today unable to withdraw their money in yet another embarrassing IT glitch for the bailed-out bank.

Branch staff told irate customers that the bank’s systems had failed nationwide, meaning thousands or even millions of people may have been locked out of their accounts.

Customers today branded NatWest’s systems ‘pathetic’ after they were unable to use their cards for at least the third time in three years.

The bank, which is owned by the Royal Bank of Scotland and was bailed out by the taxpayer in 2008, has 7.5million personal customers and 850,000 business accounts.’
