‘Greece finally agreed a deal on a €85billion bailout with its international creditors today, with the government planning to submit it to parliament later in the day.

A government source said an agreement had been reached, with finance minister Euclid Tsakalotos adding: ‘We are very close… there are a couple of very small details remaining on prior actions.’

A finance ministry said the remaining details ‘do not affect the main body of the agreement.’

Similarly optimistic remarks came from government aide Theodoros Mihopoulos, who said on Twitter that the negotiation had been completed and that ‘some details remain’.’
