Philip Hammond Accepts £2,000 watch from a Saudi Arabian sheikh

Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond has accepted a gift of a watch worth £2,000 from a Saudi Arabian sheikh despite their being a ban on ministers accepting any gifts with a value of over £140.

Hammond tried to claim that he accepted the gift in his capacity as a constituency MP and not in his ministerial role.
